  2. Here's some evidence @DrungoHazewood https://www.mccoveychronicles.com/2019/8/20/20813830/2019-mlb-giants-improvements-alex-dickerson-mike-yastrzemski-austin-slater First, nice dig at Chris Davis: Anyway:
  3. Part of me keeps hoping that Little Yaz goes on to keep hitting this way for another 5 years or so. Good for him.
  4. Villar is good. And he'd be a good player on a team where he's not viewed as one of their best players. Like if the Astros had an open 2nd base spot, Villar would be good for them. Unfortunately, the Orioles are filled with guys that would be good on better teams where their deficiencies are masked. We've got a decent power guy like Renato Nunez with a .309 OBP. That OBP would be alright if he was on a team surrounded by guys that got on base and he could jack one every so often. Same with Hanser, he doesn't strike out but he doesn't walk, either. Villar gets on base at a decent enough, but not spectacular clip. He's got some pop. He can steal a base but also can run you right out of an inning by doing something incredibly boneheaded. So while he's a good player and I'd like to keep him...dunno, it just doesn't make too much sense. Then again, we don't have a 2B prospect knocking on the door.
  5. I don't think he's slow. Man, the day you post something positive is the day a unicorn will fart out a rainbow.
  6. Why? So the bench coach can flail his arms around directing fielders between at bats?
  7. Did you think being the smartest guy in the room would not make this current squad the laughing stock of baseball?
  8. I agree. Or unless it's someone who has an axe to grind and a oft repeated message.
  9. Yeah, one certainly doesn't belong.
  10. The most immaculate thing about it is that he's not in an Orioles uniform.
  11. What do you think goes on here? We're actually writing this stuff down and taking notes? Sheesh. You really take this seriously, don't you?
  12. I know you like to thump your chest when you were correct. I still think Yaz had backers because of his last name. If his last name were Smith, I'm willing to bet you wouldn't have been as adamant about your stance.
  13. You couldn't. I'm assuming Elias and Sig looked at some advanced metrics and analytics, too. That all said, did they think DSJR was significantly better? I suppose they did.
  14. Sure. I mean, Elias just had to have him and didn't see a spot for Little Yaz on the OD roster. This might be the first miss that Elias has had since he's been here. Have to see how it shakes out.
  15. I get where you're coming from. But, IMO, if we were going to trot out a guy like DSJR then, yeah, we gave up on Little Yaz too early.
  16. It's a nicer stretch than DSJR had. And I liked DSJR early on. It's a nicer stretch than any of the AAAA outfielders we've had up this season, Santander aside. That alone, IMO, means we gave up on him too early.
  17. If this were any other year, Yaz could get serious ROY consideration. Pete Alonso will probably run away with it now that Tatis Jr is on the shelf. But Yaz might get some votes, too.
  18. Posnanski is keeping track of this streak. 33 consecutive days of MLB having at least one player hit two home runs in a game. The old streak was like 28 straight days, they've blown past it and there's no slowing down. And every day, if you subscribe to Posnanski's service, you get an email recapping what happened. It's kinda cool, but also somewhat annoying because it appears he's set aside other projects he's been working on to focus on this. I love Posnanski but he gets distracted from things he promises to do. So apparently the streak was in jeopardy last night until Yaz came through to hit his 2nd homer. Here's some excerpts of Posnanski's email this morning.
  19. So you refused a cheaper, better option because the people at Mayflower...did their job on a snowy night 12 years earlier? I get the hate for Ersay but Mayflower just did their job.
  20. What a yin yang that'll be. Half of me won't know how to live with the other half of myself. I suppose it'll come down to who's got the 13th player on the 25 man roster as a battle for who really wins.
