  1. You guys think we're tapped out or is there another signing or two before the deadline?
  2. I mean, you're never impressed by anything so....
  3. Hanser has been one of the few pleasant surprises this year. Glad to see him doing well.
  4. Pretty sure Phil Bradley was a better defender and Mancini is approaching his career home run total. Any other random late 80s early 90s names you can throw out? This is kinda fun.
  5. Was hurt last year, too. Could it be he's coming into his own? Meh.
  6. I love it when he manages to work that into a broadcast, it just kills me every time. 268 wins? Nah. 3 Cy Youngs? Nope. 3 rings? Maybe close. I firmly believe that the thing he's most proud of is that piece of trivia, that he never gave up a grand slam. And he'd love to tell you about it.
  7. As I've said before...if this was a first round pick putting up a .928 OPS in his age 27 season, we'd be collectively crapping our pants. I don't think people here believe Trey is this good because...lack of prospect and draft status. He's not supposed to be this good. IMO, the main issue here with Trey's trade value is that he's most likely looked at as a first baseman and there are a ton of good first baseman in the game right now. Unfortunately, the Davis situation is getting in the way. Get rid of Davis, put Trey at first full time. We will need a first baseman. And I know everyone has a stiffy for Mountcastle but the dude doesn't walk. I understand the infatuation with prospects here but I'm not sure about making room for Mountcastle because Mancini is viewed as a "meh" player who only does a couple things really well. Mountcastle doesn't do a whole lot well either, yet people want to overlook those things when it's convenient for making the case for a prospect.
  8. Renato Nunez? C'mon. I'd rather us waste cash like this instead of on a certain first baseman...
  9. Figures that he's starting to feast right before he plays his old team....
  10. I was heartbroken when they traded Tettleton. And I know that opened up room for Hoiles (I also keep forgetting that Hoiles came over in the Jeff Robinson trade...Hoiles came over in the Fred Lynn trade) and Hoiles was a great player but...Fruit Loops. The way he held the bat. I think if you grew up an Orioles fan and were a certain age you imitated Mickey Tettleton's stance. And if you really caught a hold of one, you were convinced that Mickey Tettleton's stance provided you with more power somehow.
  11. I think he was trying...trying to be funny and clever. I think if you've been posting here for any amount of time, you probably have posts you'd look back on and cringe at. Except if you're @Frobby. Everyone's said some stuff they regret and probably looks bad in hindsight.
  12. That guy Cy Bundy was an odd bird. I remember last year we got into a little bit over....Bundy. He actually brought up some really good points. Lately he's just been odd.
  13. I'm with you 100% on that. Talking about being exposed, Mullins got exposed super quick. If he makes it back to Baltimore I think we all won't be expecting much. And Hays is a walking IL trip. I know I said the other day he's the Hunter Harvey of position players and that might not be entirely fair as Hays hasn't had anything as severe as Harvey has...but still, the dude just can't seem to go a long way without something to set him back. But yes, it's very annoying that there's no real CF to trot out there. Broxton is another placeholder who seems to have all the athletic gifts you could ask for but is a K-machine and isn't the best in CF (even though he glides).
  14. This is pretty dumb because he's put up some decent numbers. But I'll say that I believe DJ Stewart is going to get more opportunities because of his draft status than a guy putting up the same numbers who was drafted later. Fight me, @Can_of_corn
  15. Yeah, I like him as a utility guy for sure. People griped about his defense in CF but I think for a guy who got thrown to the wolves he did an adequate job without having hardly any experience in the OF to begin with.
  16. Yeah, I'm not saying he's Ozzie Smith or even Izturis. Again, I don't think there's anyone head and shoulders above him that should be getting playing time that could do WAY better. Like Stevie Wilkerson might be better with the bat, not by a huge amount...but with the glove? Dunno.
  17. If we had a SS prospect in the minors that could be considered a part of the future, I'd be singing a different tune. But I'm fine to keep trotting Richie out there.
  18. I wish I felt that way. But I don't.
  19. Even though he's terrible with the bat, I think he's decent with the glove. He's not the worst thing about this season. I don't think the other options are much better and I'd rather have Villar at 2nd. And who knows, Villar might be traded here soon anyway. By no means do I think Richie is a long term option but for the rest of this season and as a backup for next season? Sure.
