  1. Apparently John Angelos is on 105.7 making a scene. I don't listen to that trash but he is going off per others.
  2. HAHAHAAHA You are new around these parts aren't you?
  3. Tell you what maybe I will just manually type out the tweet word for word since nothing else works. "Finally listened to the MASN oral argument. The most important part was the last thing the Orioles attorney said. "If they don't win, they will make sure the case stays in court "in perpetuity"
  4. Let's try this way instead since we can't put basic twitter links up.
  5. https://twitter.com/HalfStreetHeart/status/1638253213466996737?s=20
  6. More money to line the Angelos family pockets. Yay!!
  7. I envy these big market teams that we will never be able to compete against, especially for our homegrown and developed players we will definitely never let leave. Draft, develop, watch them ride off into the sunset to their forever home. That's the Oriole Way. How could we ever expect to compete with the Red Sox, Yankees........or San Diego Padres?? It just isn't fair.
  8. I love how Angelos and all the Stockholm syndrome affected fans here just gloss over the fact that MASN just doesn't exist for the financial benefit of the team (or at all), and is nary mentioned when talking about the "books" and what not. Why don't you open up THOSE books (well kinda maybe, in a very general form, you know what we can show you....)? We all know why. And it aint got a damn thing to do with a lawsuit. I mean it makes no money right? Just barely scraping by breaking even. Just a gift to the fans so they can watch the games from the wonderful Angelos family! A literal non profit according to most, who is in court right now arguing over hundreds of millions in......profit.
  9. Just tweeted this might be the worst day in the history of the franchise. And there have been plenty of bad ones. But he could just be lying, that is what Angelos' do.
  10. HAHAHA I was reading through this thread knowing I would find something like this, didn't think it would be from you. The fact you actually believe this lends credence to my Stockholm syndrome theory with any remaining fans. The Orioles have spent 218m in the last 4 SEASONS. Oh I know they are rebuilding just piling up all that money in the coffers waiting to spend it! These are the new Orioles. The Tampa Orioles. The Pittsburgh Orioles. The Oakland Orioles. You literally just claimed that you think the "number" is something that puts them in the top 6-8 spending teams in the league. Do you know how absolutely ridiculous that sounds? How one could think that you do indeed have some sort of delusion about where this city is, where this team and ownership is.....?? It is almost incomprehensible to think of a scenario where they are spending 175m. Maybe in 2050 when the average is 250m. Yeah they will get there..."slowly". It takes time guys just be patient!! I bet you think that Rutschman isn't going to be playing for someone else in a few years too right? Just like Machado? That "homegrown talent" that they will SURELY pay when the time is right. Remember how many years we heard that from certain people around here? What planet are you living on? It saddens me to see this false hope for something that is never happening, probably ever again. The message has been sent time after time how ownership views this team, as a pure small market (who has control of the 4th largest combined RSN in MLB) that will not spend on much of anything. What they do spend is just to pacify the few remaining fans who haven't seen them for what they have always been. I guess you just don't want to hear it. All the arguments, all the rationalization, all the excuses, all the "this is part of the plan" walked right out the door with Machado. You know it, I know it and anyone who has been following this team forever knows it. All your arguments about them spending when they need to, when they develop home grown talent were proven to be (another) lie. And it has been straight downhill ever since. Yeah 2022 was great they caught lightning in a bottle but they will never do anything payroll wise to get much past that point. Until ownership changes. Maybe. To talk about it like they are on a path to 175m right now when there has not been one shred of evidence to support that (and could be argued we have seen the opposite), I just can't get my head around. I mean with all the money they have been padding their bank accounts with recently they SHOULD be spending that right now, but "it's coming" has been a tired refrain. One that I am sure will continue for years to come.
  11. Tinman you are my spirit animal. Of course the answer is NO, but don't you worry the water carriers already have their excuses lined up ready to go. I mean they should literally have 400m in unspent revenue from the past 4 years just sitting there waiting for the "right time". The right time, that will never come. Oh the MASN dispute.."international spending"...this........that....there is ALWAYS an excuse. If I owned this team I would never sell, considering how conditioned this fanbase is to have their face spit in on a regular basis and then told it was raining while the sun is shining.
  12. Looks like Lopez was in line to get a nice raise in 2023, so this was another savvy move by the Orioles brass. Always one step ahead of everyone else.
  13. "Baseless assertion". From the literal mouth of the subject of said "baseless assertion". Totally "baseless" and made up out of thin air. Never change kool aid drinkers, never change. This is a proud franchise who never does stupid, petty things. Any suggestion otherwise is completely "baseless".
  14. So glad we dodged this bullet. How would our franchise ever recover? https://twitter.com/Padres/status/1537244901900832768?s=20&t=cveFNN5qAElHAPHeZZSeXg
  15. Because the owner of a local sports franchise with deeps ties to the community would never lie about moving the team. Would they? Nah never. We should take this family at their word, because they have shown to be such upstanding members of the community. They have never led us astray as fans. These people care about one thing....M-O-N-E-Y. And if you think they won't pickup and move if a big pile of it is waiting for them somewhere else......I don't know what to tell you. They don't care about you. They don't care about the fans. They care about the bottom line.
  16. They would sell MASN to the Nationals or there would be no sale of the team IMO. MASN is worth a massive amount of money, they aren't just throwing it away.
  17. IT'S IN THE LAWSUIT. I didn't just make it up buddy.
  18. Look who showed up late to the party! https://twitter.com/Jean_Marbella/status/1535042749623410689?s=20&t=EUsEfFSFPLs_PMcCQHPbeg
  19. So let me ask this, do yo think the idea of Angelos wanting to move to Nashville was completely fabricated, and then put in the lawsuit......for what reason exactly? I'd love to hear where it came from if it wasn't true at all. Maybe they just made it up out of thin air. Or maybe they know that is what he wants, because he has said so in the past. In private.
  20. I got two names mixed up yet it's "all wrong". Here we go again.
  21. So Mom wanted to sell, and Lou blocked it and then LIED to her about having another buyer, trying to sell.....now is attempting to seize control of the team. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree that is for sure. It sounds like John wants to move to Nashville, and Mom and the others don't. Probably had a more local buyer on the line before he killed that deal. And now Lou is doing everything he can to get his way. Hence the lawsuit. Buckle up this is just the beginning. If you think that guy won't move this team if he has his way, you are mistaken IMO. Just look at the scant evidence we have so far, and that cryptic tweet by Fenton that more is coming.
  22. Wjhat would be the point of putting that in a lawsuit, directed at a family member. This wasn't a quote to a newspaper for effect. I view it as a credible threat and a small peak into the mind of a person who has absolutely no allegiance to this city, only to the business that is the Baltimore Orioles.
  23. Oh you think?? LOL. The Angelos defenders are still lined up to this day, especially when it comes to MASN.
  24. Complete denial. After all these years and all the BS.
  25. As the Angelos world turns. I remember wayyy back in 2006, and for the next 18 years...how I was ridiculed for not buying into the bullshit and seeing these people for who they were. What ya have to say now? These people are trash, and they have slowly been destroying this franchise little by little, pocketing every penny they can in the process while starving this city and team. But you have it ALL wrong they said. That Nashville comment should be downright frightening to everyone. Well to those who actually give a damn anymore, Aint many left that is for sure. This is a city in crisis and turmoil (which isn't changing anytime soon) while Nashville is absolutely booming, and with a much more business friendly environment. Imagine what they would give to have a MLB franchise. I bet John Angelos already knows. When saying "they won't move" you have to take into account what the new owners see for this city and sports fandom over the next 20-30 years. And what they have witnessed over the last 5. It isn't pretty in either case. I wouldn't be caught dead downtown on a Friday or Saturday night anymore, or else I might literally end up dead. These are all factors that play into it all. And if you think MLB is going to stop an owner who is hellbent on moving when that owner can present very valid reasons why they want to move, just watch. This is a business first and foremost.
