  1. Exactly. He was one of the most promising young sluggers for a bit there. Still young and trapped on a trash fire team, perhaps they can catch some lightning in a bottle on this one, if not you’ve still got a situational bat.
  2. Erceg went for the Royals #11 prospect and two other pieces. Not sure what the O’s see in Rogers, but they must have valued him higher than 5 years of a hard throwing back inning reliever.
  3. He didn't come very cheap... and he's no Snell or Flaherty. I guess he's controlled for longer though.

  5. I can see selling some pieces to "reload" and to reset a contending team's window. I guess you'd hope with good drafting and savvy moves you can keep the window open perpetually, and sometimes that will involve shipping a favorite out. But if you can make the playoffs, anything can happen. Even if the O's continue to slide hard, they're still going to be in the hunt for the wild card. The OP seems to be suggesting raising the white flag, basically, which I think would be malpractice in this situation.
  6. I assumed I DID click the wrong thread!
  7. Everyone assumes that he was a steroid user but he does still deny it. Also, he was confident enough to go testify in Congress, and all his other tests were supposedly negative. I think there’s at least a world where he got screwed somehow.
  8. Only using W-L as a metric for Means is a bit silly, especially when you're arguing we only think he's good because he was a standout on a bad team. That's why his W-L record is mediocre! But he's good when he's healthy. And as for Mullins, yeah, he's not that great, I'm not saying otherwise. I'm saying, though, that his 2021 was truly great, and that's why people got the idea he was better than he's ended up being.
  9. What are you talking about? John Means has always had good results when he's on the mound. He's a good pitcher. And people thought Mullins was better than he was not because the team was bad, but because he had a standout, elite season where he clubbed 30 home runs and got on base at a .360 clip, production he has not come close to replicating since.
  10. Reminded me a bit of Alex Bregman. [ 2/38 for Bregman, with Holliday at 1/30 so far. Holliday has struck out more, though. And, after the first 10 games...
  11. There are always 1.000 ops AAA guys with good K:BB ratios who get to MLB and just can't hack it. No such thing as a sure thing prospect in baseball.
  12. Does anyone have a link to an internet stream of the radio broadcast? That's a thing, right?
  13. I know there is debate about if he had consent and stuff like that and I don't want to get into those arguments, but as I understand it there is gopro footage of some of the stuff he did with women he rendered unconscious. I believe no team is going to go out on a limb signing him when there's a risk something like that could get leaked.
  14. Another reason Ledo Park would be funny is because Ledo Pizza is pretty polarizing. I know it has a lot of haters among my social circle, but fans also. I'm glad I have both gotten to live in Italy for a little while and eat pizza there, and that I ate at the original Ledo. I could always go back to Italy, but no one can ever go to the Ledo Restaurant at Adelphi again, so I think that's the higher honor!
  15. I absolutely love Ledo Park at Camden Yards. I like the pizza, it's a local chain, and it's absolutely absurd because they'd be more likely to sponsor a little league team
