  1. Rockville? Who avoids Rockville? Weird.

    Jealous

They made the right call on him in FA, and were lucky Desmond turned down their 9 figure offer.
  3. So what does this team’s window look like? I know they have Whitley as a prospect, but their other two starters are in their late 30s. I can’t see them being able to afford Cole especially when they have to take on a full season of Greinke’s salary and Altuve gets a $20M bump.
  4. If the Yankees signed Corbin, they win the WS imo.
  5. Maybe you already do this, but can you note “how acquired” with each entry? I can’t keep last year’s trades straight in my head.
  6. That’s a good picture of the play. If Gurriel has his right foot on the bag and stretches out to meet the ball, the throw beats him.
  7. Hate to break it to you, Frobby, but half the bag is in fair territory...and so is the other half. I used to do drugs. I still do. But I used to too. — Mitch Hedberg
  8. Well, he turned down 7/210 from a World Series team. How much premium would this team need to pay?
  9. My memories of the World Series this decade and a half are not as vivid as they were in the 80s and 90s. Is Strasburg’s performance tonight the most iconic this decade? I remember Bumgarner having a great series, but I remember that being because of a great relief appearance on short rest. This has to rank up there with Johnson, Schilling, and Morris. What other ones am I not recollecting? Kind of remember Cliff Lee.
  10. So everyone on the Fox panel - ARod, Ortiz, Thomas, Smoltz are all wrong on this? Did they make the wrong call with Bellinger against Boston in last year’s World Series when they didn’t call interference? Exact same path. BTW, if Gurriel has his right foot on the bag and stretches, he catches it and Turner is out.
  11. Why is half the base in fair territory? How different was Turner’s path than the Astro Rendon threw out two innings later? If he beats the throw does he get called out?
  12. Haha. Umps on the take this series. Not even being subtle about it.
  13. Heard a radio interview with Manfred before the game tonight. He’s all for robo umps. Said that there is an updated version of the technology that they’ll roll out in the lower minors next season.
  14. Some language in here. But take a look at the part about the ump not calling strike three because Gomes started to go around the horn a little too early for the ump’s feelings. This doesn’t show the obvious missed strike three prior to the Correra homer.
  15. No chance Charlize Theron sits at that bar by herself without those guys hanging around her.
  16. Probably true, but don’t walk three guys in an inning if you are trying to minimize runs.
  17. Not a baseball name, like Hayden Penn. Terrible hire.
  18. What’s so civil about war anyway?
  19. He was also hopping around out of the box instead of running. ARod called him on that. One other little thing was the hard slide by Eaton and hustle by Rendon to prevent a DP before the Soto double.
  20. That means you also have to pitch Grienke and Verlander on short rest or Grienke only gets one start.
  21. I’m really impressed with how the Astros lay off good pitches right off the plate. Their whole lineup has a great approach. Pressure moves to Houston. Have to beat Strasburg to stay away from 0-2. Anyone know who would pitch game 4 for them?
  22. He sat for a long time in the previous half inning.
  23. Stevenson is the better option, but no way do they leave him off the roster.
  24. The Yankees were better at bringing in pitchers with domestic violence issues than the Astros and Osuna, but they still couldn’t get past them.
