  1. So it looks like Suarez vs Cortes, Povich vs Cole , and Irvin vs Gil.
  2. Has he ever had a player sign a contract pre-arb? Google articles say no, I think that is where the pushback on locking up young talent that are Boras clients comes from, he doesn't do "snuff deals" on MiLB players or pre-arb guys, at least he hasn't yet.
  3. That makes more sense then, thanks.
  4. Man, he went on a stretch of 8 CG's where he didn't allow a ball in play so the defense had to do nothing but watch him strike out the side? Why isn't this national news? It's remarkable and probably never been done in the game's history that a pitcher, not his team won 8 games all by himself. Oh, how many hits and RBI's did he have in getting those wins, seeing as the rest of the team contributed nothing? Still can't believe this isn't getting more national coverage, I'm taking to twitter in protest.
  5. There is a lot to like and I can't see why nobody would want him but for the possibility that he won't help the team much in October 2024, the cost would probably be an absurd ask.
  6. I heard on the radio that Luzardo's fastball was down 3MPH last night and he stated after the game that his back was bothering him. The way he's performed and the injury risk, concern me.
  7. I'd love Crochet, but looking at it realistically he pitched 54 innings in 2021, missed 2022 and most of 2023 with TJS and then got shelved after 12 IP last year with a shoulder issue. If you want to leverage your investment, you do the responsible thing and manage his arm appropriately, he's never started before this season, either. Crochet would likely be an investment for the next two years more so than leading a rotation into October in 2024. The CWS are monitoring him, keeping him on 5 days rest, etc, and have said multiple times they don't know when he's going to hit the wall this year but they are preparing for it. You can't just pencil him for 200 IP this year without substantial risk. I have no interest in Robert Jr. due to injury concerns that happen far too often with him.
  8. The way Gil is pitching right now is elite and if they don't throttle him back as innings are likely to be a concern at some point this summer according to YES and the NY media, and Gil keeps up what he's doing it will have nothing to do with the Yankee factor. He essentially replaced Cole while he was hurt and is putting a Cy Young season together.
  9. Teams other than CWS and MIA are probably not selling right now. The NL is so bad that only the Rockies and Marlins are more than 1.5 games back of a WC berth right now. I doubt we know anything about who is selling until mid-July.
  10. Wait, this isn't the Yankees Red Sox game thread?
  11. Another nice start, hope everything is good with the Burnes family.
  12. That isn't true, Luis Gil is, followed by Mason Miller, then Wilyer Abreu, then Cowser. It's not April, it's June.
  13. At least a HR can't tie the game.
  14. I think he just surprises people when he does that stuff, I think it's great and the fielder probably just isn't expecting it.
  15. And he's still the 4th fastest guy in MLB tied with Mateo. Must have been a lazy CF trying to get to the ball.
  16. You should also make fun of the people who think Elias needs to fix the bullpen yesterday. People saying ridiculous things "there better be a major trade in the next 15 hours". You know, that type of nonsense.
  17. Hopefully, the LHB pull the balls in the air in Yankee stadium.
  18. If we win today this series was a base hit away from a sweep with the way game 1 played out. Just couldn't buy a hit with RISP.
