  1. Sometimes, we're at the bottom of the league in turning them.
  2. I mean, Jack Flaherty has a career ERA+ of 113 and Eflin is at 98. We'll see how it works out, he's an upgrade over Povich and McDermott.
  3. No, it was just that verse on his instagram. There was no meme, just outrage I guess. I don't know. I don't do social media like that I had to google it to find out what he posted.
  4. I'm not sure what ERA- is so I guess it's good that he's better than league average there. Not looking at 2020, his ERA+ was league average once, better than league average last year and below league average in 22 and 24. In seasons he's pitched 100 IP his ERA+ is 95, 108, 100, 118 and 95 going back to 2017. I'm not saying he's a bad pitcher, but he's not the difference maker and I stand by my statement they need to add a better arm before the deadline.
  5. Why would that verse be a meme? You said you didn't know what he posted and I answered he posted The Armor of God verse.
  6. Everyone can acknowledge he had a good last season. His ERA+ isn't even league average this season and he's striking out 7 per nine. He was much better last season, in his last four seasons, he's had an ERA+ over 100 once.
  7. I think the problem lies in people just thinking for other people without actually knowing what offends them. I have a gay sister, the brother I never had, huge baseball fan and my best friend. She's a Christian and goes to a church that loves everyone. So the confusing part to me is why people say Christians hate gay people. I mean, I don't care who does what or believes what, I'm not the justice department for anyone but myself.
  8. He posted The Armor of God I think.
  9. He pitched much better last year. He's been mediocre this year, we have mediocrity in spades. They need to do better.
  10. I'm expecting something big from the Yankees at some point soon.
  11. Blue Jays trade reliever Yimi Garcia to Mariners (sportsnet.ca)
  12. Rodriguez is still young and figuring it out. I guess to me, just because you start on opening day, that doesn't exactly turn you into an Ace. I hope they get a legit upgrade to the rotation instead of a bunch of mid arms.
  13. 18M dollars for a number 4. I hope they do better 1-3 in the offseason and he doesn't become our "Ace".
  14. Not a fan of Eflin, I hope they add a better starter.
  15. Nothing sexy, but both teams will benefit marginally, I suspect. I said it in the deadline thread, expect names that aren't being tossed around in all of the rumors, this one hits that target. I'm sure there will be more moves.
  16. This will be a good move for Hays. He'll be in much more favorable park and should see much more playtime than he would here in Baltimore. I hope he rakes there.
  17. I hope Hays has a great second half with Philly. I'm glad we had him during the dark times and I've always appreciated the way he went 100% all of the time. I hope he rakes there, the Phillies seem happy to have him.
  18. Miami did say they want young, younger and youngest prospects back in trades they are making. I doubt they want a mid 20's guy like Kjerstad, they'd probably flip him for more youth.
  19. What did I miss? I don't see any news about something happening today with Crochet.
  20. I watched the 9th to see what happened. Seems to me that Kimbrel should have gotten out of that inning. Burger should have been called out on strikes but walked, Gunnar had an out for sure but booted it. Kimbrel wasn't great but he did enough to get out of the inning with a win, I believe.
  21. They quickly said that didn't happen. I'm not sure how pissed off I'd be getting a 1, 2, 3 inning on 11 pitches in a win. I certainly wouldn't label him self harming after they are saying that was not what happened.
  22. Huh, he went 3 up and 3 down for a scoreless inning. I guess I'd be pissed too and punch a table. Or maybe not.
