  1. He won't be pitching with ABS, umps are pretty good at calling balls just off the plate strikes, I guess we'll see.
  2. Mayo somehow made a 3 base error at 1B earlier this week I guess. Be careful what you wish for, defense at 1B matters too.
  3. Since his return from the IL, Kremer has given up 0, 7, 2, 3 ER. I understand that the HRs have hurt him this season, but if pitching into the 6th inning and giving up 3 runs isn't good enough for the rotation like his last start in Texas, then we'll probably be disappointed with whomever they bring in to start games. You can't expect your number 4/5 starter to throw a shutout each turn and it's not unreasonable to expect if they keep allowing 3 runs or so, that we should win some of those games.
  4. The stupidest part of all of this is that we could dump the whole farm and get Crochet, Skubal, Robert Jr. and would still likely not win the world series. These threads every year are incredibly worthless. The teams with the most talent do great in the regular season, the playoffs are whoever gets hot. It's not difficult for most people to wrap their heads around that concept but for some it clearly is.
  5. They better fix that, sucks you can't have ads.
  6. Mateo was hurt and it looked bad.
  7. That looked horrific. Mateo might be gone for a long while.
  8. Great hustle by Cowser who then makes the 3rd out at 3B. Atrocious.
  9. I don't believe Skubal is being traded, the cost is dumb. I do think the O's probably wind up with one of the better BP arms available not named Mason Miller.
  10. Thanks, I just had time to look. Horowitz has been worth 1.3 fWAR for TOR at the MLB level this year and is 26 years old and Kavadas is 25 running back his second stint in AAA. Holliday is the youngest guy in the league and 3rd in wRC+. I'll still maintain you do not trade that.
  11. Isn't Holliday leading all of AAA in wRC+ at 20 years old? I read it somewhere and saw his wRC+ is 151. You don't trade that.
  12. Maybe you mean FV? (Future Value). FV tries to sum up the value of a player into a number on the scouting grade scale (20-80). For example, say a FV 50 player correlates to a 2 WAR player, and so on.
  13. Well, we'll know for sure by the deadline, because we need a good reliever, let's see if Norby gets us one all by himself. Good relievers haven't been cheap at the deadline but I trust your judgement and expect a good reliever in a 1 for 1.
  14. I'm not arguing, but a guy who "looks like he can be a solid regular in the MLB" gets a good player on his own. It appears other talent evaluators for each team might not fully buy into the quote.
  15. I thought we wanted to improve the team this year. I'd be happy with Nardi but Luzardo had a hurt elbow and now a back that pushed him to do the 60-day IL. If they trade for him now, the odds are much better than 0 that doesn't pitch through the end of the year, let alone be effective.
  16. Likely AAV or Average Annual Value. (Dollars per year).
  17. But that is the original point. If Norby had enough value to get an upgrade for the ML team, he would not be with the organization. He will be a lesser piece for a bigger name. Could Norby bring back a Fujinami type? Sure, but he's not helping the team.
  18. I agree, he will for sure have added value to a trade but he won't be the prize.
  19. So, are you suggesting that Elias is holding onto Norby? So like, the Marlins said hey Mike, we'll give you Tanner Scott for Conor Norby straight up and he said no, that's too much? Norby is not headlining a deal, that is the reality of it, if he or Stowers could have brought back something to legit help the ML team, neither of them would still be in the organization.
  20. I'll guarantee you Elias floated Norby instead of Ortiz and was told, nah, we're good with Ortiz. If Stowers or Norby had any trade value at all without being 3rd or 4th pieces, they would have been gone during the off-season.
  21. I still don't believe the Tigers are trading him. They are playing well right now and for some reason everyone here thinks they need a full rebuild. They can trade Flaherty for a bat and grab 2 in the offseason and they will be pretty good next year. They are looked at like the White Sox on here, no talent at all.
  22. Then you don't even pick up the phone and make the call.
  23. The Dodgers need SP in a big way. His FIP is 4.97 and 6.4 K/9. I think every starter we're throwing out there on a nightly basis is an upgrade from Paxton. They are banking on 36-year-old Kershaw to replace him, I guess we'll see what he has left in the tank.
