  1. I have a feeling this thread title is going to age like milk.
  2. When games matter, and you have the ability, human error should be minimized. I don't even care if they go full robo ump, give the players challenges and if umps are getting and losing 10 challenges a game, they can not let them work in the playoffs or whatever.
  3. I don't trust Rodriguez, and have no idea what to expect from Bradish so I'm less confident in the 4th game of the series.
  4. Of course, there will be. Safe/out calls, balls hit fair/foul. Humans are not being replaced, the terrible variability of what each one thinks a strike zone is will be replaced.
  5. I like our chances in games 2 and 3.
  6. You said he's never had a good year. It's okay to wear that, you said zero, and that means none to me.
  7. I think you are confusing me with someone who cares if he's in the lineup. I don't think he's better than anyone we are running out there right now.
  8. If it's any consolation, his fastball which has -2 run value right now, was -11 last season. Soto might hit the warehouse.
  9. I'd argue there is really good reason. The human will still stand behind the plate, but human error will be reduced, which is a good thing.
  10. He was never here to play every day, he's here until Hays gets off the IL. That concept is hard for people to understand, and if he could actually play defense, he'd probably have gotten some starts.
  11. Ramirez DFA? If Kimbrel is hurt, I don't know why they haven't announced it, it's not like the Yankees' game plan would be screwed up if they thought Kimbrel is going to pitch at some point. Feels like it should have been announced by now.
  12. They've looked bad all season. He's thrown 190 4 seam fastballs and the slugging % is .543 against it, hard hit 48.6%, they are slugging .700 on the cut fastball with a 50% hard hit. His fastball has negative run value, it's not a good pitch. He's actually been lucky, his expected slugging on the 4 seamer is .622.
  13. Valuable in a bullpen for sure. He's no Kevin Pillar in value comparison.
  14. I'm probably more worried about Rodriguez than most. His data is bad. Fastball is down 1 MPH, he's poor in some important categories like Avg EV, Barrel %, Hard-hit, and he's not getting many GB. If his off-speed stuff is working then he's got a shot, if he has to rely on his fastball he's going to be in trouble, it's not a good pitch.
  15. Aiken has had 0 good years? He was pretty darn good in 2022.
  16. Wait...the Yankees have the 2nd best pitching MLB. We are middle of the pack in the teens. What is great pitching in your estimation?
  17. The quality of pitching has a lot to do with that. MIL was awful and throwing retreads and position players out there this past series.
  18. I trust Akin a lot more than Perez. He's had one good year with us and a decent part of another.
  19. They pitch much better than us, and their offensive numbers went from middling to pretty good thanks to MIL having to use retreads and position players on the mound during that series. I expect Soto to do Soto things, but they aren't the terrifying Yankee team with the bats. I am concerned for the pen if they blow Rodriguez out after seeing his last two starts. I'm not sure why his fastball is so terrible right now.
  20. I can't remember the last time Kimbrel threw a curveball. His fastball which has been outstanding up in the zone has been down when he's able to throw it over. I'm not sure what's going, but it sure seems like something is bothering him.
  21. He did, you can even hear what he said during the post-game on the MASN website and it's free.
  22. There was a terrible call against Mateo as well that put him at 1-2 instead of 2-1 in the 9th.
