It's hard to argue with anything here. I think people need to realize that some of these guys just aren't going to work out, as well. We seem to have hit on Adley and Gunnar, we are going to have some busts in there too, it's baseball.

His dWAR is -4.5, and his oWAR which I'm much less concerned with is -2.7. His DRS is -4 and that's with only 30 putouts. If it were Aaron Hicks playing that poorly, we'd be gathering the pitchforks, he's been very bad in the field, even on routine plays. His UZR/150 is -25.2. -39.3 in CF, -19.4 in RF. I get that he's had to adjust at each level, but a guy who is going to be an above-average COF or defender, usually shows something after 140 innings where you go, oh I see it.

I agree, it's hard to IL someone who is saying I'm totally fine on TV, though, but it's not like guys hide injuries or anything.

I'd probably want to swap someone out. I like Hicks fine, but if you guys are frustrated with our relievers walking people, Hicks has 5.1 BB/9 for his career and has been worth 1.1 WAR in 5 years. His WHIP is 1.5, so if you wanted a lockdown reliever for higher-leverage situations, he's probably not the guy.

He's said he's completely fine health-wise in interviews. Dead arm maybe, I have no idea but it's a move that had to be made, he's hurting the team right now.

The expected batting average on the ball was just over .200. I don't need to see it again, I've watched it enough. An average CF makes that play, there would be no heroics involved.
