  1. AL Central is our daddy too. I hate those teams.
  2. Is he a confirmed soft tosser? I know nothing about him other than A+ and AA this year.
  3. Huh, I had no idea Espada is Hyde's brother in law.
  4. That's probably the type of pitcher that Kjerstad gets you, but 6.8 K/9 is gross. He gives up dingers too.
  5. Yeah, I think it's interesting as well. They were saying in the start before yesterday, Gil threw over 100 pitches and 50 were strikes, it's not impossible that he's hitting the fatigue wall coming back from injury. They blame everything but the pitcher, though, like Wheeler was bad, the O's weren't good.
  6. Getting out of Boston seems to have rejuvenated Sale.
  7. I basically agree on everything. The good old days mean different things to different age groups. Being a brown man who's lived in the US for 5 and a half decades the good old days to me are the 70's. I understand the history of discrimination, but the point of players being thrown at was not reserved exclusively for the segregated game. I don't think anything good comes out of beanball wars.
  8. Waiting for Boone to claim Rodon is tipping his pitches.
  9. In all fairness, it was a questionable way to end his initial post and I feel unnecessary. Players in every league have "policed" themselves by throwing at hitters since the game was invented. Race had nothing to do with it.
  10. Hopefully, if they trade Kjerstad for a young pitcher it's one who can strike people out. We need K arms.
  11. I think we see them for two series close together in mid to end of Sept.
  12. Why can't we just admit it? Why can't we just admit it? We won't give pause until the blood is flowin' Neither the brave nor bold Nor brightest of stories told We won't give pause until the blood is flowin'
  13. Take your own advice and enjoy him instead of shitting all over him when he doesn't come through with the bases loaded and act like he's garbage. There are receipts, I'm not going to get them.
  14. You're literally the guy saying Gunner is complete garbage when he doesn't do something in high-leverage situations and "he's the last player you want to see" "he comes up small when the bases are loaded like clockwork".
  15. Ah the voice of reason whenever someone has a criticism, God forbid. It's a bad look when players do things like that, we clown Jose Siri for doing it on clear strike 3 calls. Gunnar, as great as he is is not beyond criticism. Nobody cares if you are impressed or not, but when a 22-year-old starts jawing at umps when he clearly was struck out, it's not cool, no matter what team he is on.
  16. Is he telling the umps he's upset at himself? Why else would he look at them and point to the zone instead of just walking away?
  17. I'd invite you to go watch both of his looking strikeouts against the Phillies on 6/16. Now, when players are generally disappointed with themselves, they don't turn and face the ump, shake their heads, and hold out their hands like that pitch was a ball. Bottom of the 5th and Bottom of the 8th. Enjoy! This is not a new thing.
  18. I like Judge and usually he's a great interview but after listening to him after the game where he was hit all that kept popping into my head was a line from Deuce Bigalow - "that's a big b****".
  19. It was damned tense in the game thread at 11-5.
  20. I was okay with it. I appreciate these guys taking the high road. I don't want the country to think we are a team of a bunch of dicks, like the Yankees or others.
  21. Great eye for crime, not so much for talent.
  22. Yeah, both Girardi and Cone were like STFU it's the 3rd inning in Yankee Stadium.
  23. Burnes vs Blanco who throws a no-hitter nearly every outing on Sat.
