  1. I think it’s likely Stripling, and Tucker Barnhart for a good defense back up Catcher and ….. I really want Benintendi, but more likely a one year make good deal for Conforto.
  2. I would like to go after Singer of the Royals. It would take a lot, but I think we might be able to pry him away for Urias, Hays and DL Hall. Does that seem like a do-able deal?
  3. If Elias decides to trade Santander, it’s not a dilemma. Santander has solid value, he would bring a nice return. It’s all about who Elias values, and how he wants to construct the team. over the next week or so, we should get a better picture of how he intends to go about that.
  4. Bell is a nice bay, I too would like to have him. But not anywhere near the top of those estimations. I would not go beyond 3 years, or 12 aav. So, anything beyond 3 and 36 and I’m out
  5. This. Exactly this. And I agree with the philosophy 100%. I believe that Elias has a goal of a long term contending window, and signing 30 plus year old guys for ridiculous sums of money is not how you do that. I think they will make a trade or two and add a reasonable cost free agent or two if the opportunity arise. But I am not on board for overpaying for the big majority of these guys available in free agency. I think Benintendi makes good sense. I think a trade or two out of our infield surplus and current OF makes sense. I never expected the O’s to spend crazy money on the top of this free agency class
  6. I am all about Carlos Rodon and andrew Benintendi. Could then concentrate on smaller trades to bolster the bullpen.
  7. I think Carlos Rodon just makes too much sense. That’s the guy I would be targeting.
  8. i agree, i think mullins defense is a much bigger deal than most think.
  9. Very Sad day. Tom Terrific will always be one of the greatest pitchers of all time in my mind. A great pitcher and a great person. I read that he suffered from dementia at the end. RIP Tom.
  10. where is the plays out his contract option? I actually think they will just bury him on the bench and drag him all the way through the terms of the deal.
  11. Yep. This will be interesting to see. I will not be surprised if they sit him against lefties.
  12. Looks like Davis is vying to lead the league in K's wire to wire. I just hope that the O's will put him out of his misery after about a month.
  13. I think they want to go to Miami. Is the money enough to overcome that? I doubt it.
  14. I negotiate some kind of a buyout, if possible. If Davis side does not entertain any buyout negotiations, then I cut him loose and bite the bullet. You cannot run the worst player in the history of the game out there for another season.
  15. I like Nunez, kid has potential. I am pulling for the guy to steady up the glove work, because he has some thump in that bat.
  16. And I think his hit tool is better than that. Time will tell.
  17. I agree Roy. I see a young player having the typical "sophomore slump". He is a hitter in my opinion. I don't care if he is not a prototypical power hitting first baseman. I think he will provide adequate power for a first baseman, and imo he is a very solid contributor long term.
  18. I gave this one a C. I really only like Encarnacion of the guys we have coming back in the trade, but 2.5 in International bucks pushes up to a C for me. If not for the $$$$, I would rank it a D. I was a little let down with the prospect haul.
  19. What does it take? Well, it takes the courage to admit that you made a terrible mistake and that it is a sunk cost. To continue playing this guy is adding to your losses. No, there will be no buy out. That is a pipe dream. The contract guarantee's the player be paid the negotiated amount. But it most certainly does not guarantee that said player will play throughout the term of the deal all the while dragging your team down the drain with him. Just sit him down! The money is lost. Period. Move on.
  20. It could happen, but it would all be up to Chris Davis. If he continues on the path he has been on, I think a guy might consider a settlement to avoid the embarrassment. Right now he is the worst hitter in all of baseball and he has been for an extended stretch. I could see a proud guy taking a pile of money and going off to be a full time Dad and a retired baseball player. Not beyond my imagination that this could happen.
  21. It is a nightmare, but I think Davis is done. And no, we can't trade him. I have a feeling he will be sitting a lot by the all-star break, and they will DFA him at some point. Its a shame.
  22. I am not going to complain about the addition of Cashner, especially with the contract that we signed him to. I think he makes a nice innings eating #4 starter and I think his GB tendencies plays well in our ballpark. It isn't over yet, maybe the Orioles can still find the #3 starter that they need. If so, they may have an outside shot at a wildcard, which is apparently the FO's dream.
  23. Yes. That is all you are on the hook for if he sucks. If he is good, your on the hook for 13M/Yr. I like a guy that bets on himself like that.
