  1. The negotiation is more about how they get to divvy up the 600 million dollars of taxpayer money. Which "friendly" businesses get the contracts, and how and how much they will kick back to which politicians. It's a money laundering operation.
  2. One dirty hand in another. Don't overlook the politics of all this. Disgustingly corrupt.
  3. Everything about this club with the exception of baseball ops is an abject embarrassment. Everything about this city with no exception is an embarrassment, and frankly, a tragedy.
  4. The problem with this strategy, is again, it neccesitates the starters still pitching on their skip turn, so it is arguable how much it even relieves them. Also, the O's with their roster construction, wouldn't be in a good position to take advantage of it. This requires an up- down bullpen. With most of the O's swing bullpen pieces being out of options, I don't think it works.
  5. So a six man rotation. Unless they plan on using the starters for 2-3 inning bullpen stretches on their "skipped" turn, then this would strain the bullpen too much imo.
  6. Well, you might not be talking about them, but wildcard was. He's factoring them, rightly, as part of the equation. I agree with you in regards to the injured guys.
  7. But it's not just the injured guys. It's the guys healthy and performing too. That's where the 19 comes from. They're not going to trade for a SP that isn't a clear and obvious upgrade over, not Means, but Kremer. Highly unlikely somebody like that is available for a reasonable price.
  8. That's the issue though, which I think even you acknowledged earlier. There almost certainly isn't going to be an obvious upgrade available for the rotation. And that's got nothing to do with Means. So I agree with you in that you certainly don't "count" on Means, but wildcard's right too, in the sense that anybody traded for will have to be an upgrade over the pitchers that are already here.
  9. You think you hate journalists. You don't hate them nearly enough.
  10. I think he'll make a "minor" move to upgrade the bullpen. Probably ship out a prospect in our 20-30 range to do it. And I think he'd love to get a starting pitcher with team control who clearly upgrades the rotation. But I don't think that guy is out there, so I don't expect them to do anything "major."
  11. He got a "low" number too- same as Westburg. I think he's here for good depending on his performance.

    That's hysterical.
  13. I'm surprised there isn't another thread. Perhaps it's been discussed elsewhere. The O's are sending four guys to the All-Star game this year: Rutschman, Bautista, Cano, and Hays. Congrats to them all, especially Hays, who I thought was the least likeliest to be selected.
  14. I hate to speculate after seeing a 10 second clip, but that doesn't look like a 15 day injury.
  15. What was Hays' injury? For that matter, I heard Westburg got hurt as well. What happened to him?
  16. I think it's encouraging they have found and acquired Wells, Bradish, and Kremer.
  17. Being a big-time hitting catcher is very, very rare for a reason. The position takes a toll on your body, especially your hands and wrists. I was mocked for it.
  18. Where's the "Not Happening" category?
  19. Cool. A new thing to whine and cry and complain about. Adley Rutschman is going to be the starting catcher for the AL All-Star team. Not good enough! When is the "Call Up Basallo!" chant coming?
  20. Let me guess. The way to fix the team on pace for 100 wins is to immediately call up some rookies. Novel idea.
  21. Odor's playing time was significantly reduced once Henderson reached the big leagues.
