  1. He'd probably have to pitch well for half a season with his underlying numbers backing up his success before he'd have any trade value
  2. Yeah, I've been excited all day to see what he'll do tonight
  3. This was exactly me in softball, at least after the league switched to reduced-flight balls. Never knew there was a word for it
  4. I'm from the area and I'd never heard of the guardians of traffic statues until the Indians changed their name
  5. Should have gone back to the Naps to make it clear their team name is honoring Nap Lajoie Or the spiders. I like the spiders
  6. I think he could be a decent 3-4 IP long reliever on a good team
  7. Honestly, Lopez did a pretty good job that inning
  8. We're starting Lopez in the 5th inning, everyone to your bomb shelters!
  9. It's not like anyone is in his way
  10. If the move is Franco, I really don't get it. Neither can hit, but Gutierrez can field
  11. Somewhat, at least in my opinion. He gets credit for a great Kjerstad pick and I'll knock him some for his failed overslots. If the Baumler/Mayos of the world fail, it counts against you if you could have taken that money and drafted a better talent in the first round. Or maybe if there were better overslots available and you passed on them
  12. I agree. I'm getting pretty tired of Valaika, and I'm not sure why they can't work on Jones's defense at the major league level. Not sure if it applies to Norfolk, but aren't fielding percentages in the minors often hurt by the quality of the field the players play on? If so, Jones's fielding percentage might improve upon promotion just because he's on a better quality field
  13. Gotta believe Rhodes, Willems and Craig are the overslots at this point
  14. I dunno. I'd rather have GrayRod and four non-prospect pitchers in my farm system than five Kevin Smiths
  15. Anytime you'd like to show us that plus-plus command of yours, Wells, we're ready
  16. Galvis at SS, Urias at 2B seems like a no-brainer
  17. I really hope they keep Gutierrez over Franco. At least he can field
  18. That's $100,000 per team. I think they can swing that
  19. They can't be so much more expensive that it's anything more than a drop in the bucket to a Major League team, right?
  20. Fair enough. Looks like he left the Blue Jays because ESPN offered him more money. Didn't know that he ever worked in MLB. I always assumed he was one of those talking heads being fed second-hand scouting reports that some people here think know prospects better than MLB front offices
  21. If Keith Law is so great at evaluating draft prospects, why hasn't any MLB team hired him yet?
