  1. Whoa. OK 2020....what else you got for us?!?!?!!??!?!
  2. So have we basically lost a year of service time for all of our prospects? What about things like minor league options? My main question I guess is are they all a year closer to FA now but with no playing time to show for it?
  3. But could he still out-hustle him?
  4. Surprised no one has mentioned Jones yet. AJ had a period where he hit 25, 32, 33, 29, 27, 29 homers. Hit in the .280s for awhile. I guess he wasn't really known for success on the base paths stealing, but I still think it's worthy of being in the conversation. He peaked at 16 steals. His defense I suppose was somewhat argued about, but clearly he went through a period where he was a great CF. We could argue about how short it was.
  5. I definitely remember a lot of politicians squawking about this before. There will be vocal protests. But idk if Congress will really care enough to intervene. It's a different world now.
  6. The nice thing about making vague grand claims is that you can just make up whatever criteria you want to judge them by...….and that can make you correct no matter what happens! US is the 3rd most populated nation on Earth so I would expect we will def be up there in terms of total fatalities at least.
  7. I seem to remember him having to leave a game early at the end of Feb cuz he wasn't feeling well. He hasn't pitched in a game since, right? Now it looks like a blister is causing him to miss his scheduled start today. https://www.masnsports.com/school-of-roch/2020/03/orioles-lineup-vs-twins-and-notes-on-cobb-and-wilkerson.html Has anyone gone and checked the seam height on the balls for this year? I know that's been an issue for him in the past...………...
  8. I think it's pretty clear that the more we speculate and make up things on this forum the better off we all are. It greatly improves the odds of learning the truth, as opposed to just waiting until Trey gets all the 2nd opinions he needs and the Orioles finally make the news public. That would be so boring.
  9. ftfy wonder if this will ever get old. heh
  10. Could MLB do it? Sure. But it'd have to be pretty bad. Happy to help. lmk if you have any other questions.
  11. How about the whole "keeping his bat on the shoulder" thing while watching strike 3? Have they addressed that?
  12. In all seriousness I agree with Moose. I think Hunter is quite good on the radio actually. But annoying on TV for whatever reason. I like Garceau though, so I'm sure he will be a good addition.
  13. He's there in the paragraph that starts talking about Gary Thorne. "Longtime announcers JIM HUNTER and TOM DAVIS will bring their decades of Orioles experience to new roles as regular on-air contributors in 2020." Maybe this means he will have a reduced role?
  14. So is this the end of Hunter's modest "2 year broadcasting streak" on the radio for games?
  15. Cincinnati Reds appear to have 0 LCS wins since 1990. Oakland hasn't had any since '92.
  16. Hays, Diaz, Mountcastle. Harvey maybe. Rutschman. Hard for me to get excited about any of the other pitchers at the moment, although I suppose I'm curious to see if Cobb is able to make it through a whole spring training healthy AND not be too upset about the height of the seams on the balls.
  17. Would you rather have 5M watch an event one time per year? or 1M people watch something 90 times during the year? (this is the most recent figure I found for ESPN MLB games) This is why baseball revenues continue to increase. ESPN paid 5.6 BILLION dollars for their current MLB deal. They aren't doing that to lose money.
  18. Oh and in addition to the above they lowered the pitcher's mound again in the 1960s. I'm assuming you see that as relevant since you chose 1904 as your cutoff.
  19. The DH? outlawing the spitball? Oh no, I bet Drungo is referring to the mandatory minimum outfield boundaries regulations of 1959.
  20. How desperate do you have to be...………… ?
  21. He will have to miss another 32 games to serve the remainder of his suspension. I suppose there is some value there...…. but are there really no better utility infielders available? I guess probably not cheap ones that can hit .753 (his OPS in Seattle last year). This is a big meh from me.
  22. Roch is reporting that Mancini has agreed to terms for 2020 as well. So there are will be no arbitration hearings this year. Woo!
  23. Only Mancini and Alberto remain. less than 10 minutes til the deadline!! What Will Happen Next??!??!?!!?
  24. How incredibly awesome and sad at the same time. Congrats Luke! I can only imagine how amazing this must feel.
  25. Mad props to Colorado, St. Louis, and Milwaukee.
