  1. Kinda feel for this guy. 813 PA in AAA now at 23 years old. Hitting well but not enough to make you go wow I guess. I hope someone throws him a nice party when he gets to 1,000 this year.
  2. Mateo or Urias. Maybe Santander.

This is saying this is the first time a cutoff man has nailed a runner at home in 8 years? That feels off.
  4. Lineup posted. McKenna gets the start in CF, batting 9th.

I'm assuming Abreu had to consent to being sent back to the minors right? I feel it's pretty rare when something like that happens with an established vet.
  6. Seems like in reality your 'buffer' for not judging the owner lasted about 30 days.
  7. I think it might be a tease that they are working on plans to improve the sound system at the stadium. But not something i'm losing sleep over either way.
  8. But then you would have to start Kjerstad vs a left-handed Starter when Kjerstad has historically hit lefties well in his minor league career. (.880 OPS vs LHP in 2023 in minors) It might be the defensive piece that they are more worried about, idk.
  9. I don't really want Hicks back on the team but Elias seems to love keeping the old gang together. I think there is a > 5% chance we try to claim him.
  10. Turns out Dillon Tate has an option. So that is what they are going to do. Hmmmmm. I detect something else going on strategically here. Maybe Elias expects another IL move shortly that will let them recall Tate before the minimum timeframe passes?
  11. Current Yankees roster is 2 for 20 vs Grayson. Good for a .332 OPS. Lock it in! What could go wrong?
  12. Thought this was a thread about Kevin Millar at first and I got pretty confused.
  13. I was thinking about posting a thread about Kjerstad specifically. What is his role exactly on the current roster?
  14. Both Rooker and Gelof had OPS's over 1.000 against us last year. Rooker particularly crushed us with 4 hr in 6 games.
  15. I think it's worth giving Kimbrel some major props so far. He has been far more dominant that I expected in the early going. 11 innings, a WHIP of 0.64.........striking out almost 14 per 9 is fantastic. He has allowed 5 hits so far all season............all singles. The run he allowed last night was off of a single and a 2 base error. The one blown save was off of a bloop hit, two steals, and a sac fly. The bottom line is that opposing hitters haven't been squaring him up well at all yet and although he certainly won't be THIS dominant all year long he has far exceeded our expectations I think and man wouldn't it be nice to have a tricky decision about picking up his option for 2025 with Bautista also coming back.
  16. Fedde from the White Sox? Man that team is trash but he is off to a solid start so far and is extremely cheap (for 2024 and 2025).
  17. Preferably it shouldn't be bumped until there are two final scores imo.
  18. He is a spry 75! Not even old enough yet to run for President in the US.
  19. I actually agree with most of this. It definitely seems to be in Elias's nature to hold onto guys as long as possible and to be extra sure that a prospect is dominating at a level before promoting them. He also was on record recently as saying it does no one any good to let guys just mash in the minors for long periods of time. So we will see. Kjerstad has seemed to cool off significantly since the Tides stopped playing against Charlotte. So he probably does want to see more from him.
