  1. That is a lot of money to walk away from. I can also see if hard for a prideful person to admit to themselves that they are an anchor to the team.
  2. Yea that wasn't the first time he said that in his life.
  3. Someone PM me with what was actually said. But yea, judging by his apology/Home run call he's gone.
  4. Not me, I saw who started the thread.
  5. The ship with the phone sanitizers?
  6. You think the front office made this decision?
  7. Turns out it was a salary dispute.
  8. What experimentation? Akin's three innings?
  9. If they are doing it, and Mountcastle does go on to have a decent career, this is going to cost him a lot of money.
  10. If you wait till next year you get a whole year of control. Why burn a year of service time on this season? I haven't convinced myself of this yet, but I'm getting closer.
  11. NP, it's a pretty subtle effect. I was figuring this way it's readable for everyone but if someone needs to check to see if I'm joking they can. For at least as long as I bother to do it.
  12. It's there. I'm using a super dark green so you can still read it. It's #003300 on the color spectrum.
  13. Hays wasn't an asset to the lineup. He wasn't hitting any better than Mullins.
  14. I think it is safe to say 29 teams would have promoted him by now so him still being down is pretty improbable.
  15. I see Smith in the outfield and I think to myself, this is what it would have looked like if Billy Rowell had made it to the majors.
  16. My guess is the O's don't want to eat Smith's salary so we are stuck with him.
  17. How is it improbable that they are gaming his service time?
  18. I'm quickly moving in that direction. I don't see what he could be working on at Bowie that he can't work on in Baltimore.
  19. Service time manipulation. Let's be honest, if he hasn't learned how to play left yet, it isn't going to happen. Edit- Some sort of discipinary action could also be in play but I don't even like speculating about stuff like that.
  20. I ask again, has any player ever needed this much time to learn left field? He did play it last season. He did play it this spring. Mancini, a career first baseman in college, learned in a couple of weeks. I honestly don't get how people can buy into this development story. Everything they are doing in Bowie they could be doing in Baltimore, plus he could play in actual games.
