Kimbrel is on his 8th team. Lee Smith played for eight. I don't think it's unusual for a relief pitcher with a long career to jump around a lot once initial period of team control is over. Not many of these guys get long term extensions even if they are on the top of their game.

I wasn't suggesting prospect for prospects. I was suggesting making room for the guys at AAA by trading folks like Urias for prospects that are further out.

What if you could not hurt the 2024 team but potentially help the 2027 team? I'd either be looking to add an impact bullpen piece or pieces that are several years away. Stashing guys that are MLB ready in AAA while guys with lower ceilings are on the team doesn't seem like the "right thing to do".
