  1. Sounds to me like you did it to yourself.
  2. The word funny has multiple meanings. I was using the one that dates back to 1806.
  3. Funny how you always seem to end up with insults.
  4. Don't ever let me forget just how classy you are.
  5. Once again I didn't say that. Weird how often you put words in my mouth. Not even sure what point you are trying to say I made. Hamilton had value even with his flaws. You don't often see a guy in today's game hang on for 11 seasons if he's not valuable.
  6. He doubled down on "pairing him" with Mullins. That's on him. It's not Mullin's job to be paired up with a kid in the minors. I decided not to engage you on the Hamiltion comment because that was Malike's point and he did a fine job.
  7. I think the idea is to make one or both of them relocate during the offseason and force them to work together without additional pay. I know I'd appreciate it if my job wanted me to train my replacement off the clock.
  8. And I said that he'll need a better batting average than Hamilton showed. I do agree with Malike that if you put a plus glove on Hamilton's profile you have a pretty useful player for the first 6-7 years of their career.
  9. Billy Hamilton never hit 130 singles in a season. He only even got to 130 hits in a season twice. If Bradford is a career .239 hitter he'll be lucky to get to the 11 seasons Hamilton played.
  10. So you interpreted a post in which he specifically said Bradfield should work out with a player as advocating that Bradfield work out under team supervision. That does check out with your history of interpreting posts. Thanks for the insight.
  11. I don't think I did. I think folks actually think like this. No emoticons, they bothered to hunt up a picture. Yea, I might be wrong, because you can't always tell on the internet but I think he was serious. If he wasn't serious he didn't do a good job of conveying that. I notice you gave him an up vote and not a laugh.
  12. So instead of using actual professionals that are trained to, and are being paid to, handle this sort of stuff the O's should just have another player, in his off-season, train his possible replacement? Based off of what? One picture of Mullins looking jacked? Do they even winter in the same State? Are you going to force Mullins to give him a spare room in the back?
  13. Right. Instead of teaming him up with the trainers the team has hired to do this sort of thing they should team him up with another player who should have the freedom to have his off-season to himself and not be saddled with additional responsibilities he's not getting paid for.
  14. And a lot of teams get that extra year by extending their players. I also don't think it's "especially" important for this team in particular. That just sounds like something you tell yourself so you are OK with them messing with the kid's future.
  15. Someone probably wrote an article about how they would never see another 400 game winner after Walter Johnson retired.
  16. They were incredibly unlucky last season.
  17. Interesting. Did Cole and Boras OK the leak to their man Heyman in an attempt to get Yankee fans to ratchet up the pressure on Cashman?
  18. The low payroll was part of the plan to fund the wife's music career.
  19. So you are saying the additional slot money isn't an advantage? Is that your stance?
  20. Not just, someone like Mayo was picked because of the extra slot money.
  21. Would they have had the money to sign him? Maybe?
  22. I understand the long game but there are too many unknowns in baseball. You have to push when you see the chance. You have very little idea of what 2030 is going to look like. Would be foolish of Elias to act in such a manner. Realistically what are the odds of him still being in Baltimore? How many folks in his role stay for over a decade?
  23. I think that would be a clear indication that the O's don't actually value winning very highly. If they do something like that and then fail to make the playoffs...ohh boy.
  24. It's been years since I read the Arm but didn't they have a part in it about how trying to prevent UCL injuries might be causing an increase in other injuries (shoulder in particular)? Are did I read that somewhere else? All that stress on the body from pitching is going to settle in somewhere. On the common sense level it makes sense, it all makes sense. And then a 20 year outfielder blows his UCL. I'd like for these kids to not get hurt, we all would, but they've always gotten hurt. Smoky Joe Wood got hurt. So far they haven't been able to show any real evidence that any of this works.
