  1. I'm going to go ahead and repeat what I wrote the last time you posted this. I see the word tentative so I'm still expecting a rug pull.
  2. I'm fully expecting it to be mentioned in some capacity.
  3. It's only one year for Soto. Probably going to be a decade of Ohtani.
  4. I'm betting it's like the last time and the O's didn't even bother to reach out.
  5. I feel bad for the Japanese journalists who cover him. It's going to suck for them.
  6. You don't know with the Blue Jays. They are owned by Rogers Communications and they have had erratic funding in the past. Was it 2014 when they were allowed to add any payroll for a playoff push?
  7. On the bright side we get to hear the O's complain about the Blue Jays and Yankees spending money to improve themselves.
  8. Huh. Pretty nice advantage if Ohanti is worried about money. I don't think money is his main driving force.
  9. Oh it was horrid. But Gomez was a pretty adequate player that folks just seem to ignore. Not sure if the O's deserve any credit for someone like Hoiles.
  10. Brian Roberts was 2001. Leo Gomez and David Segui were 1990.
  11. I expect Jasson Dominguez to be back at some point next season and if he does it's going to be as a DH.
  12. I think the Yankees are upset they missed the playoff and the Jays are upset they underperformed their apparent talent. I don't think the O's are the main factor in them trying to improve. I have no idea what the Red Sox are trying to do.
  13. I'm fine with a payroll that is lower than the top teams but I do with it was at the league average.
  14. From what I've read they didn't exactly try that hard to keep them. I'm fine with rooting for an underdog, I just wish that ownership didn't exacerbate the situation. A lot of the O's underdog status seems to be self-inflicted.
  15. I think that quote fits into what I said just fine.
  16. Of course they aren't a lock, the Yankees added Soto and are in big on Yamamoto!
  17. He's also said, two years running, that he wants to add a guy that slots into the top 3 of the rotation. How often does a guy that fills that bill get traded without a pitcher coming back in the deal?
  18. Hey now, they might go into the playbook for the trade the fourth best middle infield prospect move.
  19. I would be hilarious to me if Dave Roberts leaking news of the talks was the deciding factor.
  20. I did say reportedly. I didn't state it as fact. I'm not saying he is untouchable mind you, just that it isn't a "zero chance".
  21. Given how many guys are reportedly untouchable I can see them adding even more names to the list.
