  1. Most of us don't think our personal beliefs are facts. I am by no means sure that any of what you quoted is actually true.
  2. That would be fine, that would be reasonable. I'd still counter with Stowers.
  3. No, you are arguing because it pains you that I refuted a point you made. You can't seem to just admit, hey yea, the Hall move does mean that Elias won't do this 100% of the time.
  4. I completely agree. I don't see why some folks aren't willing to accept that possibility. There was zero chance Hall was staying up after that start last season, even if he had gone six scoreless.
  5. When he was called up for one start last season, and sent right back down, it was because they thought he was ready to permanently stay in the majors? You really think that? Or, does Elias' actions sometimes not match his words?
  6. So when Elias called up Hall for a start last season it was because he thought he was ready to stay permanently in MLB? Or maybe Elias sometimes does things that go against what he says?
  7. Because he's worried about his farm system ranking? Because he's a hoarder? Because a guy in AAA can't have flaws exposed by ML opposition?
  8. It's a pretty poor system. The O's can take one or more of these guys, put him on the 40 next year and keep him in the minors for three more seasons.
  9. Oh I love that argument. The Elias has to be smarter than any of us fans so whatever choice they make has to be the right one. Hadn't heard that one in ages. How dare we question any decision our betters make! No way he could have any biases that could impact his decision making.
  10. Sure. Are you willing to admit that players who get promoted to the majors at a younger age generally have superior careers to players promoted at an older age? Sure. I'll admit to not knowing anyone who "had his career ruined" but sure, it's conceivable. Are you willing to admit that guys have likely been hurt or even had careers ruined because they were playing in minor league facilities? Maybe Grayson doesn't get hurt last season if he's in the majors that day. We don't know. Nope. I'm not. You don't learn to hit ML pitching beating up on minor league pitching.
  11. It isn't implicit. Folks are admitting that the players would have an adjustment period. The conversation is just not what you are portraying it to be. Also Cowser can work on his approach in the majors. Folks can still refine their game after getting promoted.
  12. WHO? Who is everyone? Give me some names. The most I've seen is someone saying a callup could do as well as Frazier. I'm also apparently having a senior moment since I'm not sure who Diaz is.
  13. I'm not saying they saw it coming. They might have a wildly different projection. He might start suddenly hitting better. All I'm saying is that what he is doing now is not out of line with how he has played since the second half of the 2021 season.
  14. After he got traded to San Diego. He was fine with the Pirates.
  15. 2021 (SDP)- 86 OPS+ 2022- 80 OPS+ 2023- 76 OPS+ It isn't that surprising.
  16. If you figure it out, let me know. All I've got is a crackpot theory.
  17. Yea? In that one particular game instance it was good.... If the guy that strikes out 30% of the time can get the ball in the air than I think it's pretty even. A strikeout only counts as one out.
  18. As I said earlier, how useful is contact when the hitter is slow and hits the ball on the ground?
  19. Odd nickname, usually used in conjunction with a Russian artillery piece, the M1915. It was small enough to fit into a machine gun emplacement and had a range of about a mile. The normal weapon for clearing trenches in WWI was the shotgun. Something like this Winchester.
