First off yea, LOL. Secondly I'm not sure Gwynn even counts as a modern comp. Twenty seasons, .338 BA, 790 walks, 434 K's, 136 Homeruns. Nobody is going to put up numbers like that in today's game.

Folks should be held accountable but if the team isn't providing a chef and nutritionist they are falling behind.

I'd have pitched to him. I'd almost always to pitch to everyone. As is he stole second and got to third on a wild pitch. Judge on third is more dangerous than Judge at the plate.

I can see why you wouldn't want your current and future centerpiece player on the field for opening day. Makes a lot of sense.
