  1. So that McKenna, good thing he can hit right?
  2. On pace to hit 100 pitches in the fourth.
  3. At least it shows he still has the speed needed.
  4. Just because a guy starts a game in right field doesn't mean he's a starting right fielder. He's also at around within about 1.5 HR/season of Gwynn's pace if he got as many at bats.
  5. Good luck finding a starting right fielder that averages 9 HR/162. (I checked, even Nick was at 14/162)
  6. Doesn't help when ownership is saying what sounds like excuses for why they won't get a deal done. Have the O's ever extended a player before they had a pending arbitration case?
  7. To say they don't do it is an attempt to validate a strategy of not selecting pitchers. Obviously the Astros don't believe in such a strategy.
  8. The Astros didn't take pitchers 1-1 in back to back drafts? They didn't take a pitcher in the first round in 2016 and 2017? So I'm not seeing that four of their last nine first round picks were pitchers?
  9. Best way to make sure your young left handed prospect never gets a hit off of left handed pitching is to never let him bat against one. I think there is more value to being in the big league environment and playing even sparingly against that level of competition than in getting demoted.
  10. Are we talking about a day off or a day at DH? I don't think a day at DH counts as a day off mentally. I think for a lot of players it's more stressful than a day in the field.
  11. I'm not in favor of playing guys 160+ games. But it's early April and he's 21. I think he'll be OK without weekly games at DH.
  12. I'm talking about three more games in the field a month. You adjust around your top players and Gunnar needs to be one of those guys if this is going to work.
  13. I get all of that. But when you make comments like you did above part of the reason it is so rare is that, historically, players like Grayson and Hall would have lost rookie status already. If you removed Grayson and Hall from the O's prospect list this offseason do they still finish #1? If the Braves had kept all their young players in the minors where would their farm had ranked?
  14. Yep. Teams in that situation tend to promote their players off the lists.
  15. Or trade one of them. Or have one of them DH. Gunnar's development is more important.
  16. Once a month would be fine. Once a week seems excessive, particularly when it puts Santander in the field.
  17. Last year would have been the time to find out.
  18. Not sure how it could be a troll post? A joke sure...but a troll?
  19. I don't know, it's kinda feast or famine with this guy. You take away the games in which he doesn't make an out and his numbers aren't all that impressive. Odd video choice.
