  1. You weren't including the defense and hitting issues?
  2. They probably thought it was the actor. Dudes 77 and has some questionable comments on his Twitter page.
  3. If he wants a deal that will guarantee him something that approximates what he'd earn in arbitration I'd seriously consider it. I bet he wants something more substantial.
  4. Might be because of a fresh install you are running but I daily drive Firefox and I've been having issues.
  5. Nice Jones homage there by Machado.
  6. I'm just curious what you see that so quickly allows you to determine his future with the bat. Is it footwork? Swing mechanics? Plate coverage? Is it just a gut feeling you have and you didn't articulate it well? Do you think Santander is a superior hitter? For the record I have zero issue with trading him for pitching.
  7. I think that is almost entirely due to this.
  8. So you think he falls somewhere between really (very) good and elite but you won't say why? I'm not defending him I'm just curious how you managed to come to this very narrow window of his ability based off of so little data. Does anyone have the misplay in the outfield? I'd like to take another look.
  9. He's rocking a 153 OPS+ what does your scouting eye see that makes you think he can't be an elite hitter?
  10. No. Talking about how the narrative of a person's defense can be defined by a single play. Just like Jack Cust was defined by a stumble on the base paths.
  11. That's pretty much what happened to DJ Stewart.
  12. How many guys get better at defense after the age of 25? Most of the time defense peaks first.
  13. He's got a 153 OPS+. Kinda silly to complain about the offense.
  14. Nicola Jokic? Pat Mahomes? Lionel Messi?
  15. Tillman's 2018 deal. Yea it was only 3M but a blind man could have seen that one coming.
  16. Iron also dulls iron. Depends on how they interact.
  17. Also, heck of a draft pick by the prior regime. Third round pick got to the majors the year after getting drafted.
  18. I think it is. On both sides, in regards to the team and to your agent that you pay to handle that sort of thing.
  19. Oh, so you mean we don't get pointless platitudes? Cool, I'd rather not hear canned response #3. I thought you meant actual dialog on the topic.
  20. They aren't going to talk about it. I can't imagine Adley, for instance, going to the media to lobby for an extension. It's very unprofessional.
  21. The only interesting part, to me, is the bit about long term extensions. The other parts were going to pretty obviously going to be a problem. Guys should have been shipped off during the offseason, but Elias is too risk adverse to promote that many young players at once.
