  1. Does anyone think that if Mike Zunino (1-3 2012 draft) had spent more time in the minors that he'd be a star now?
  2. Did they spend half a season in an intensive program like Adley did last year? You don't buy my if he's a bust argument? Can you think of anyone with Adley's pedigree that hit .650 in the minors and ended up amounting to anything in the majors? (No I don't count DJ Stewart) I also don't think you, or I, can prove someone wasn't ready or not ready or if rushing them would have helped or hindered their development. I've said it before, Brooks was up super early, was clearly not ready and he ended up in the Hall of Fame. Folks can continue to develop in the majors, nothing magical exists in the minors.
  3. Do you think time in the minors is going to substantially change things if that is the case? If he's a bust he's a bust. I don't think spending a season at AA is going to transform him from whatever he's going to be into something much different. His peer group that didn't go to college already have years of MLB play under their belts. I think folks completely dismiss the development these guys have in college. He wasn't playing in an intramural league for three years.
  4. Just rent him out to a NPB team.
  5. So what he did over 130 at bats two years ago might influence your decision?
  6. He should only be promoted to AAA if he is playing at a very high level in the minor leagues and deserves the opportunity.
  7. For the record I would totally trade those guys once the season ended.
  8. I'm sure I can find a couple of guys in the bullpen I can send down or release to make room for Hall and Rodriguez.
  9. It's fine for International kids to be in the majors at 20. It's fine for HS kids to be in the majors at 20. Kids that spend three years in college? They have to spend a couple years in the minors first. Pay their dues, earn their promotions.
  10. I'm sure I can find a couple 40 spots without trading Santander and Mancini.
  11. I'm pretty shocked anyone doesn't think he "should". The O's are potentially costing this kids tens of millions in future earnings. I know how I'd feel. Now I'm not saying calling him up day one is the best move for the team but it is what "should" happen.
  12. You don't think he did that last year? Like, a lot? I think he should get to know Means a little better.
  13. But the question was "should". Should he? I think that question is an easy yes.
  14. People get caught up in the whole has to prove himself in the minors stuff the GM spouts. Adley is 23 He was the 1-1 pick out of college. Now maybe he busts, maybe he's Wieters but wasting a season in the minors isn't going to "develop" him. Sisco was in the majors, as a catcher, at 22. By all accounts this kid's makeup is off the charts. Nothing he can learn in the minors he can't learn in the majors. Keeping him down is all about gaming his service time.
  15. You left off- Time his promotion so that he falls a handful of at bats short of losing his rookie eligibility. ?
  16. Highest Positional Adjustment? https://library.fangraphs.com/misc/war/positional-adjustment/
  17. If team control is for six years what's the problem? You don't control the player past that time-frame so what difference does it make how he declines?
  18. Never, catch him into the ground and let someone else pay for his decline.
  19. All a year is going to tell you is if he can hit AA pitching.
  20. I don't think the Tatis deal in any way shape or form impacts what the O's will do with Adley.
