  1. Beating a dead horse here but Garceau is awful lol. I have no idea what happened on that last play.
  2. Shoutout to Chris Davis as well for getting it started with the double with nobody on and 2 out. Think he may have had 2 strikes on him as well.
  3. Urias is legit. Mateo is a spark plug. Suddenly we have a logjam in the infield with Vavra, Westburg, and Gunnar knocking on the door.
  4. The fact that we didn’t fold in this game tells you A LOT about the character and mettle of this team. Big bounce back victory.
  5. Apparently this account has been right about things before
  6. I think the original was much better but I did enjoy Billy Bob Thornton as Buttermaker
  7. Officially a better team than the 1927 Yankees
  8. I’m updating my prediction from 63-99 before the season started to 76-86. So no I don’t believe we will sustain this level of performance but I hope I’m wrong and am enjoying the ride!
  9. I see 61* is still criminally underrated. It tops my list. The Sandlot is up there though.
  10. He was 23 and in his second year in the MLB
  11. Starting lineup the last time we won our 9th game in a row Anderson Bordick Surhoff Belle Ripken Conine Kingsale Hairston Johnson Charles Johnson went 4-4, Belle homered, Cal was 3-4 and Bordy was 2-5 with 3 ribbies. Erickson got the win giving up 2 over 6.2 and Mike Timlin picked up the save. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/ANA/ANA199909170.shtml
  12. We have actually tied the 1927 Yankees’ longest winning streak of 9. So win tomorrow and we are officially the better team.
  13. I had no idea what was happening on the double play to end the inning. Thanks Melanie!
  14. I watched the 1969 World Series Film and I just wanted to come on here and say I think we got hosed by this non call in the 10th inning of game 4. Rod Gaspar was on second with no outs and J.C. Martin laid down a sac bunt. Pete Richert fielded it and threw the ball into the back of Martin who was running inside the line. Gaspar scored and the Mets won the game to go up 3-1 in the series. I've seen this called interference many times. We probably would have lost anyway but I still wanted to complain to somebody about a non call made 53 years ago. The story of this series though for me was the Mets defense. Their outfield made some ridiculous plays that kept several runs off the board for us.
  15. To be honest I had never heard of Joe Mantiply but I just looked up his numbers and he has a 1.83 ERA with a 34:1 K to BB ratio so I think he’s earned it haha.
  16. I feel a bit better about it now but still feel it they overcorrected a bit and I still hate the way it looks. I will continue to curse the wall when it steals a homer from us and rejoice every time it keeps an opponents ball in the park lol.
  17. I worked for the Orioles at Bowie last year and I can tell you that positive energy in the dugout was something that the coaching staff stressed all year long. Keep in mind one of our current hitting coaches was at Bowie last year. The guys raved all year about the chemistry in the clubhouse and how it made it fun to come to work everyday. So people in this org definitely value that sort of thing.
  18. Starting lineup for the last time we won our 8th straight game Roberts Newhan Mora Tejada Sosa Palmeiro Lopez Gibbons Bigbie Tejada went 4-4 with a homer and Mora went 2 for 4 with 2. Bruce Chen gave up 3 over 6 and BJ Ryan picked up the save. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BAL/BAL200505010.shtml
  19. Interviewing players while they’re on the field is still strange to me but it is very entertaining at the same time. Mouncastle breathing heavy after covering first on a groundout- “5 yard jog and I’m gassed”
  20. Just wish they’d bring back my Orioles magazines and programs lol
