  1. LOL. This team is so pathetic. Upgrade the rotation my a**.
  2. If they have plenty of cash, they should use it to improve the team. Plenty of options have been there all off season. It just boggles my mind that they think $8M for Frazier is a smart use of funds, while $17M on Eovaldi (a player who misses bats and has higher upside than Frazier at a position of need) is not. It's just stupid to me (the team's decision making...your post is probably correct).
  3. No thanks on Greinke. Not really that enamored with any of these options. Should have signed Eovaldi. Pathetic that they didn't considering how low the payroll is right now.
  4. Maybe the Frazier signing for $8M made it so Eovaldi was out of their price range. Laughably pathetic if the Orioles cannot afford $8M and $17M contracts, but also laughably pathetic insofar that Frazier was not nearly as necessary as someone like Eovaldi.
  5. Sure. But the Orioles should have signed Eovaldi if all it took was 2 years 34 (I understand the incentives can make it more). He would be an upgrade over whoever the fifth starter is right now (Wells/Voth). It is pathetic that with as low a payroll as they have, they could not do this.
  6. Meh. See if Eovaldi will take something in the neighborhood of 2 years 30, go up to 35M if necessary, and lets move forward.
  7. Good question and good post. I went with Mountcastle because I think he is more likely to improve on last year's numbers, though Hays' defense makes it a lot closer.
  8. Thanks Tony. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all.
  9. Hahaha. No worries, Jimmy McGill was the king of billboards. I do civil defense work though.
  10. Frobby and I (and I'm sure others on here) are legal experts though - at least, our employers seem to think so.
  11. Hope you're right. Hope it's neither of them. But he's a lefty bat who can play first...
  12. Or his fellow former Royals teammate, Mike Moustakas. I could really see this, and it worries me immensely. https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/baseball/mlb/player/19166/mike-moustakas
  13. Agreed. As long as McCann is not getting regular at bats (unless he gets hot), then it's a solid move. He was pretty good a few years ago, and I read that he was a bit unlucky last year. A low 700s OPS with 8-10 home runs would be perfectly fine from him.
  14. Here's an article about him from a few days ago. https://birdswatcher.com/2022/12/17/baltimore-orioles-nathan-eovaldi/
  15. LOL - on this cold, rainy morning, I was thinking along those lines as well. But the Orioles would benefit the most from that trade. Lopez AND Rogers is a coup for Mullins.
  16. Would look into a Gray and Kepler for Urias/Mateo and Tate type deal.
  17. We loved Segui in my house growing up. Pure singles hitter. Didn't see your question before, but now that I see it, Eddie Murray.
  18. No one said the Orioles are smart with how they allocate money on a limited budget.
  19. Interesting. It's a move teams make that have extra money to spend. Reliever was not really a need for this team. I don't get why the Orioles can't spend money on positions of need.
  20. Sure why not? I hope they realize they still need a starting pitcher and another bat.
