  1. Agreed. At worst, Folty is another Wojo. Would be worthwhile to at least figure out what went wrong with a formerly solid starting pitcher.
  2. Makes sense considering the Fish are still in Philly. That doesn't foreclose on the potential of an Orioles Marlins three game series at Camden Yards, assuming... well, assuming a lot of things.
  3. Yes. Adam Silver is the best commissioner in sports, and it's not even remotely close.
  4. Agreed. Best case scenario for us as fans is, if the Orioles are already down in Miami, to do a double header there tomorrow. Or a double header in Baltimore for Wednesday or Thursday's game. It's doable, if they handle the COVID part of this correctly.
  5. I hope I am wrong. I have been in a good mood since Saturday almost entirely because of the fun series win in Boston. It's just, if the Marlins had it, and were in the Phillies visiting clubhouse, the Phillies are not all at risk too, and it's a domino effect. You would think they have to cancel the Yankees Phillies game tonight too.
  6. That's gotta be it for the season too, right? Marlins played Phillies, who are all now very much at risk. Marlins were in the clubhouse that the Yankees are coming to tonight, so that game will probably be postponed. I wanted baseball so so bad and was so happy about the weekend results, but this is reality.
  7. Really really bad news. This is the danger of playing this season. One person gets it, and his teammates and opponents are all in danger.
  8. Excited for all the bugs bunny changeups we're gonna hear about! Who's with me? (and turbo changes, splities, and crushers)
  9. I think this is probably it, especially after last night's lineup had Ruiz second. Speaking of Ruiz, he hit the ball well in ST, and in yesterdays tiny sample size, seemed like he hit some line drives. Maybe he'll surprise with an .800 OPS during the short season?
  10. Alternating right lefty, and Alberto is much worse against righties (Eovaldi). If the Orioles were facing a lefty, such as EROD who was supposed to pitch, I'd hit Alberto leadoff. Also just a fun exercise, didn't put too much thought into it.
  11. That's fair. Or Alberto for Velazquez, ho bats switch.
  12. Wow, we are literally ONE WEEK from actual baseball (fingers crossed). I thought it would be fun to put some guesses together for the Orioles opening night lineup against, I'm assuming, right hander Nathan Eovaldi. Since we have not had any ST games, I feel like a lot of our guesses will be shots in the dark. CF Hays LF Stewart RF Santander DH Nunez 1B Davis C Severino 3B Ruiz 2B Alberto SS Iglesias SP Means Whad'ya say?
  13. If Diaz does well during workouts at the alternate site, I see no reason to not give him at bats this season. Same with Kremer getting starts - give them a taste of MLB. I'm sure if they need to, they'll manipulate the service time issues accordingly to make it worthwhile.
  14. That's probably pretty close. I could see Mason Williams sneaking into a bench role over Wilkerson. I could also see someone like Hess/Eshelman/Sheppard over Phillips.
  15. Same re: Santander. Hopefully Mountcastle will get a chance to show he belongs in left field, with Santander in right field. Diaz waiting in the wings, with the possibility that Mountcastle or Santander get some starts at DH.
  16. A little hyperbolic don't you think? I'm totally fine with not signing him, but one year and a max of 60 games of Puig would not have been something that required dodging. My guess is when Santander was cleared, they realized they didn't need him anymore.
  17. Oh well. It was nice to think about, but doesn't really have much of an effect on anything. Hopefully Mountcastle and Diaz can get some ABs this year.
  18. Yes! Hopefully he can get into game shape and start in right field come July 24.
