  1. Um... who in the world downvoted this post? I am beyond confused why this warranted a down vote.
  2. We're lucky to have her, and Meoli, one of the best we've had in a while.
  3. Good post. I agree with all of it. Chris is a good guy, and it sucks that this is happening to him. But I think the problem is mainly between the ears: (1) not wanting to change and (2) whatever is causing him to look at so many called third strikes/not see the ball. I hope when it is said and done, we will be able to remember him fondly for 2012, 2013, and 2015.
  4. I really do not remember that many fly balls "dying on the warning track." I remember a lot of swinging and looking strike outs. Which adding 25 pounds of weight won't help avoid.
  5. Jon Heyman doing Jon Heyman things (Tim Beckham did not sign with SD)
  6. Taylor Teagarden Bill Hall Nick Johnson. Boom.
  7. One thing we have to get out of Cobb is innings. This team is incredibly short on guys that can come in and eat innings, especially after losing guys like Bundy, Ynoa, Brooks, Yack etc. If Cobb cannot give them at least 150 IP, they will be digging into that AA rotation much sooner than they would like.
  8. I agree, but I believe $5M is the maximum fine allowed pursuant to the current CBA.
  9. Yep, I was thinking the same thing. Every little bit helps/.
  10. Looks like he'll compete for a UTIL position. https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/player/21092/richard-urena Only 23.
  11. You already liked my tweet congraulating you, but here is my message on the Hangout. Congratulations! You'll be missed here, but I know you'll do amazing work!
  12. Good move, nothing not to like. Hopefully his defense up the middle provides a boost with the young array of pitchers coming through.
  13. Santander claims the everyday job in right and puts up an OPS over .825.
  14. Releasing Chris Davis. Spin rates Pedro Severino's energy.
  15. Akin over Kremer? Cmon now, Baseball America.
  16. This is where I'm at as well. Maybe I'm short sighted, but for me, Easton Lucas is not worth the price of losing Villar's entertainment value and what he will bring to make this summer at least a bit more bearable.
  17. Yes. Benching Davis allows you to have this type of alignment: 1B: Mancini CF Hays DH/LF/RF Santander, Stewart, Mountcastle, Diaz (when he's ready) In other words, one of Santander, Stewart, Mountcastle, Diaz doesn't play if Davis is a regular.
  18. Sure, why not? In Spring Training, Mancini should be playing first full time at ST, and the outfield competition should be between Hays, Santander, Stewart (injured), Mountcastle, Diaz, Mullins, McKenna and Smith. Benching Davis clears a spot in our most talent-rich part of the upper minors - the outfield.
  19. For me personally, it's 7-10 years (hopefully more) of competitive baseball, in the running for the postseason every year. Something like the Cardinals have going over the last several years - either making the playoffs, or just missing but being in contention. Elias' talent pipeline, if executed correctly, should accomplish that. WS would be great, but it's a crapshoot, as the Nats showed this year.
  20. As long as Davis sits on the roster and does not play, then fine. Let Mancini play first to open up the outfield and DH spots to the younger players.
