  1. Hope he has found some peace .. terrible to feel that way every day
  2. This is just outstanding news, Tony! This site and the opportunity to share our passion for the Os with each other has meant a great deal to me. It has been a tremendous source of information and I have learned so much from you and many other great people here! I want us all to share in the return of the Os to the Series and we will celebrate that by toasting our friend Michael and many others, like my Dad, who wanted to see it happen! Thank you and God bless you for all you do and for your service to us all and to the nation,
  3. Reminds me of another big hard throwing closer .. Armando
  4. Jorge who? Just lucky it was not a one run game
  5. How can he play CF if his arm can’t make second base throws?
  6. Wasn’t there some thoughts he was tipping pitches? And then had several great outings after adjusting? And now? Maybe he just mentally loses focus and leaves pitches where he doesn’t want them
  7. I do like it .. We will like it more if he actually does that in the offseason. I am a big Elias supporter although again .. still scratching head a little bit about some moves but overall A grade
  8. “Hope you make the wildcard .. here is Brett Phillips!! Get after it!!” Lol Guess Brett doesn’t qualify as a “major league player” lol Seriously though I do like almost all the moves, and hope they do add contributing players during the offseason and I agree 2023 can be a liftoff season.
  9. Nope … too much cost, too little value
  10. Looks like Manny, Fernando and Juan will be the core Padres .. excellent trio.
  11. I believe, based on no knowledge, that the team is going to be sold when Peter passes.
  12. We shall see .. I do hope we bring back this particular thread in a couple years when any of the return we obtained today actually makes it to the team or doesn’t make it. Some analysts i have read thus far feel it was maybe short in today’s return value but may pay off in long run , some don’t.. we shall all see how good at trading Elias et al actually are in the next years. It does lead me though to expect much less from the team for the rest of 2022.
  13. Twins board generally ecstatic lol nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted 1 hour ago Normally you don't give up 4 prospects for a relief pitcher, but I'm definitely on board with the quantity over quality approach. Hopefully teams other than the Orioles are willing to do this too. Also, what the heck are the Orioles doing? They're above .500, possibly seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and trade a guy who would still be around for 2.5 years for Cano and three guys who are many years away from making the majors.
  14. Yes, does that happen with “waiver claims” very much? Making the All Star team? I get minimizing Lopez value as a “waiver claim” makes it seem he will be an easily replaceable piece. I don’t agree. And I predict his WAR over the next two years will be more than the return or his replacement.. yes, Bautista can move into closing but the measure really is do we find a set up guy as good as Bautista because that is Lopez value too.
  15. Conversation Aaron Gleeman @AaronGleeman I wrote about Jorge López as a reliever the #MNTwins should target, but assumed it was unlikely because of the high expected price tag. https://theathletic.com/3389498/2022/06/30/twins-trade-deadline-relief-pitchers/… To get 2.5 seasons of López for their #20 prospect and a couple low-minors lottery ticket arms seems like a clear win. Early opinions about the trade not so good
  16. On initial look, this seems to be much less value returning than an AllStar closer with controllable years to another AL contender should return. No ML piece at all and even questionable that the main piece, Povich, will not be Cody Sedlock lol. Hope I am wrong. Will trust Elias et al know much more than me.
  17. Yusniel not getting the love in this thread, lol! I hope the young man rises to the occasion in his big chance. Maybe he will surprise us.
  18. Love hearing Beth Mancini tell this story after Trey’s first big league hit , a home run. Trey comes from a family of Os fans and will always be an O in our hearts https://youtu.be/u_IopQ1enGA
  19. Trey can be a free agent after the season?
  20. Nathan Ruiz @NathanSRuiz Trey Mancini is on the field in Arlington giving hugs to Orioles staff.
  21. Trey has been my favorite Oriole ever since he arrived and hit a homer and his lovely mom went bonkers as it was also Trey’s late grandfather’s birthday who was a huge Os fan. I enjoyed him in the minors and his bat even then produced that certain sound of a ball crushed. Obviously his tremendous comeback and perseverance and his superb character and wonderful personality made him truly beloved here. I am so glad he will be in playoffs and hope he wins a ring for them!! Go Trey!!! We love you!!
  22. I am glad Trey will go to the playoffs and hopefully a championship
