  1. What was that review all about? At the game so didn’t have benefit of all the replays, was there a thought that the fan was out over the field wall? Looked like Buxton was upset with the fan.
  2. His 2nd and 3rd at bats tonight were good. Good contact on the line out. I’d like him to attack more, but it’s pretty remarkable looking at the pitch locations he’s seeing, it seems like they are all on the black. The couple that have been fully over the plate he has fouled off or made contact on.
  3. And I’m pretty sure he was on the bench most of that game. Came on in the 7th or 8th as I recall.
  4. Does Statcast account for positioning at the time the ball was hit? Sounds like he was shaded towards RCF a bit.
  5. For the record, I don’t think his swing is broken, and he’s very much in the adjustment window. There is also enough information by now to get a rough idea on how he is being pitched that he can look for pitches and spots. I was only noting that if this continues for another 30+ at bats, his swing likely will be broken. All to say that nobody is above being sent back if that’s what it takes.
  6. No doubt, but at some point you get out of wack, your swing and confidence are gone and you need to get it back. Grayson didn’t really have anything to prove against AAA competition last year. Same with Cowser to a lesser extent. They just needed to get right.
  7. I’d think if Holliday gets to somewhere between 30-50 at bats and is hitting under .100, they’d have to think about giving him that reset.
  8. I thought the same about the national broadcast bit. Hopefully that grows over time. I like the radio guys to have an interesting voice or delivery, something both Hollander and Arnold have. Wagner is a bit of a straight man, though he seems good at his job.
  9. Nobody is going to boo the number one prospect after his first 4 games. They wouldn’t even do that in Philly.
  10. Why not? Our bullpen has been crushed the last few days. If he gets out of this less than 90 he should be back out there.
  11. I think I saw burgers for $22 on Friday so $20 wouldn’t surprise me. The Charleston Riverdogs had a great dog that was very similar looking for $10 back in 2015 when I was down there. Well worth it.
  12. My two thoughts are A-Hyde also seemed upset in that incident and B-while I didn’t hear Ben’s comments, I’m sure he gets good info from the locker room and wouldn’t just speculate wildly. I’m also CERTAIN that he didn’t simply “forget” that pitch com exists as one poster postulated.
  13. I think Bichette would be the over rated one in that group, though he is very good. I’d take Gunnar over Witt too, though he’s off to a great start this year.
  14. This is a good after midnight on a Saturday thread.
  15. You think he just forgot about pitchcom?
  16. I was most interested to see Hyde getting into it a bit. There was definitely something everyone was aware of. He wasn’t telling Adames to get his “back-a**” in the box
  17. Have there been a bunch of plays he’s blown that I’ve missed? There were the two pop ups where one was probably not even his ball. Anything else? He’s looked competent on his ground ball chances to me.
  18. I have no clue what you’re trying to say, but I gather you have a very different view on marriage than JH does. Who is to say you’re right and he’s wrong?
  19. Fair enough, but on the other hand, Holliday coming in second this year opens him up for some MVP considerations in a few years.
  20. Let’s go get TWO of those comp picks.
  21. Hollidays gotta get aggressive early in the count.
  22. Def looks like a 70’s ball player. I saw him and said “that’s a reliever right there”
  23. This is such a cynical idea, that they’d put him somewhere in the order out of personal pride. First of all, Hyde makes the lineup card, not Elias. Second of all, how many rookies come up and are immediately slotted into a top of the order spot? Adley and Gunnar both batted 6th their first game and Manny was 9th.
  24. Nice. I did call him coming up for the brewers series about a week ago. Glad I was wrong!
