2020 will most likely be a losing season but it’s also an important season for establishing a winning culture. Retaining Davis would run in direct opposition with that.

If Mancini had been playing solid 1B this year instead of questionable outfield it would be him no question IMO. I still give him the nod as is FWIW.

Herb pretty ineffective. Ok fastball and show me curveball but they were on him and gave up 3 runs in the second. Tayler Scott gave up a homer to his first batter followed by a couple strikeouts. Slider (maybe?) was effective down and in to lefties.

Baseball is a pretty cool game. So many different ways to get the job done.

I spent a miserably restless night in that Greyhound station back in 2012 after one of the ALDS games. Lot of interesting characters come and go in there.

As far as the logjam of COF/1B/DH I wonder if Núñez will have any trade value this offseason. I like him and he is young but seems to be the odd man out. Would be interested in RP prospects but not sure as to the quality in return.

Something that speaks a little bit to me is that it seemed like the other players were very much on Bleier’s side. Not just Armstrong but it looked like Bundy and Wilkerson came over and it wasn’t a let’s hold this psycho Davis back situation.

I agree. Can’t have coaches breaking during a tough season. Different from the Davis situation in that Hyde removed himself and Davis went after him.

This ticks me off. Probably some attachment to Bleier who has been pretty good here for a couple years, but that’s out of line for a Coach. Hope Hyde sorts them both out.

I don’t think so. They had good seasons at the level they were at, it’s reasonable to take some time to adjust. A great reason for end of season promotions is to give the guys a taste so they know what needs work in the offseason.

After a quick scan through current MLB leaders minor league stats it looks like the HBP does translate, for the most part. Also interesting to see how much more NL players get hit than AL players. The league as a whole has been hit about 100 more times and the person hit the most (Dietrich) has been hit 9 more times (23) than Trouts 14.

Well you could look at it in the sense that Davis blocks Mancini from 1st which on any given night can block an outfielder.

We were able to keep Rickard who was more prepared with his bat, but it sounds like McKenna could be a capable 4th OF right now.

Question being how much will filling out change his speed profile which seems to be an important part of his game.
