  1. Great progress in July.
  2. I expect Díaz will be promoted mid season and compete for a job out of ST.

    DL Hall 2019

Heard on the radio that they are trying to get Hall to work on his weaknesses more. Has probably already been brought up and no clue if it’s true but I hope that’s the case. Despite his command struggles still a pretty good year.
  4. Didn’t do a whole lot of research but to compare teams from 2015-2019 Yankees have 9 guys on both rosters, though I counted 3 60day guys Dodgers also have 9 guys on both rosters. I’d be pretty happy with 5 guys out of this group but I think this amount of roster turnover may be more common than we think.
  5. Quick release on the assist.

    Adam Hall 2019

Age adjusted I’d say it’s pretty close to great.
  7. I just hope that next year the team can fight for near 70 wins or that we can at least see improvement in one aspect of the team, most likely bullpen. Just not sure where the help will be coming from. Ive watched fewer games this year than ever since being back in the area and miss it being a part of my summer.
  8. Could he learn second? He’s not very big and seems pretty agile.

    Adam Hall 2019

He’s got a pretty good chance at 5 homers this year and has already eclipsed his doubles total from last year in the same number of AB’s.
  10. Odds are you’re right, I’m just a big Hall fan boy. I like the idea of promoting someone like him towards the end of the season so he can get a firm idea of what to work on in the offseason.
  11. Whole half season left for both Díaz and Hays. Assuming he’s eligible I like Hays’ chances. Adam Hall is my dark horse to sneak on with a decent showing in Frederick second half.
  12. Tate also looked pretty good out of the bullpen. He gun had him at 97 on his 4 seamer and what looked like a two seamer at 93-94 and got a few ground balls on it. Off speed pitches were ineffective.
  13. If the gun was right he was sitting 92-93 and hit 95 a few times. His curve (I believe?) seemed to get better as the night went on and he mixed it in to good effect the last two innings.
  14. First time I’ve ever seen Kremer, this dude has major league flow if nothing else. Has allowed almost no solid contact through 6.
  15. Not sure how that’s best case scenario. Never a fan of the Mancini-Trumbo comparisons, they’ve got different skill sets offensively.
  16. Scott, Means, Harvey for pitchers, Harvey as set up man Wilkerson as super sub and Stewart as DH/5OF. Hays seems like the only one of the group that could be an impact type player.
  17. Regardless I’ve seen exactly enough of Alberto. Maybe Mullins back up and Wilkerson can play some second.
  18. As far as everything else discussed, I think it’s perfectly legitimate to be worried about safety visiting Baltimore. The reputation exists and even among folks that live here there is a certain recognition that you have to be aware. “Be safe” is the refrain leaving the bar at night. But there is a beautiful organic variety and camaraderie that exists here that I haven’t experienced in NY, Boston, DC or a few southern cities I have lived in. It seems residents and entrepreneurs are figuring a way to press on despite a wildly ineffective city government. Such a long way to go and so much of the city that has been left behind for so long but there is clear progress and an exciting future ahead.
  19. Union recently released Divine IPA, a perversely hoppy ale.
  20. The difference between grinders and Manny is that grinders do it every play. Manny gets aggressive when he's frustrated.
  21. So the guy gets traded and within a week the Braves coaches identify some issue, had him correct it to relative perfection and now he is an ace? Is that the gist? Or has he pitched against the 9,10, 12 and 15th offenses in the already offensively challenged NL? Not to mention, look at his last 9 starts here, 7 of them 3 runs or less.
  22. I don’t think that’s an apples to apples comparison. One is mid season with little time to adjust and the other allows him months to get situated. Story goes he didn’t go to Philly because he doesn’t view himself as a backup, which is fair. Don’t want to discount those reasons he mentioned but I think in the off-season he will reconsider.
  23. I thought both Santander and Hays had good AB's there in the 9th, Hays had a couple good takes (for a guy that I heard might not be as selective) and I liked seeing Santander go with the pitch. It would be nice to have some variety in the strengths of batters in the lineup next year.
