  1. Is the team slumping? I’m counting 6.4 runs per game over the last 10. Seems pretty good to me. I’d say a big part of the managers job is to not give in to knee-jerk reactions and instead provide a steady hand throughout the year.
  2. What are you talking about? Who are the 5 guys that were “discarded?” Why does it matter if some other team gave up on a player if they are performing well here and now?
  3. Maybe a bit of a funny fluke but interesting nonetheless that Trouts rWAR and fWAR are identical for his career.
  4. This happens with literally every starter after a short start.
  5. I believe Blue Jays are known as real jerks of birds. Which lines up with the team.
  6. Sure. The post I replied to had a quote that wasn’t talking about QOing him. Either way, accepting a $20M risk isn’t the same as wanting to pay him that.
  7. Sure but the post you replied to wasn’t even advocating for a QO. Was simply he is more valuable to the team than he would be via trade value.

    Coby Mayo 2023

Totally agree here. Mountcastle has really come on strong and I think it’s a question of what value would he bring back in a trade? I think less than he could provide staying here.
  9. He’s also given up a ton of homers at that velo. I’d way rather the 2021 number.
  10. I guess size to velocity isn’t 1:1 but I’ve always wondered why he can’t throw the ball faster.
  11. Yikes KC and Oakland. Guess they better keep selling.
  12. To be filed in the “searching for explanations” camp: Is it possible that Adley is selectively deciding when to actively go after pitches with his best effort? Something of an energy saving and career lengthening move? Don’t go all out on blocking a pitch with the team up or down by 5 runs, for example. No clue, just a thought.
  13. Mullins always seemed like a quickness guy vs straight line speed. Brian Roberts wasn’t terribly fast either but got to his speed quickly. Still, surprised Mullins is that low.
  14. I’m not sure that’s necessarily true. Mateo and Urias were both retained and Frazier added this year with Henderson clearly ready and Westburg and Ortiz in the wings.
  15. Using Cano where he did worked out as well. Brach and KB were wondering if that was a planned move for the top of the lineup.
  16. Irvin was great, but let’s not get it twisted, by no means did he take down Kirby. But that’s one of the things that makes baseball so great. I wanna shout out the home plate ump, he was remarkably consistent all night, only missed a few calls and they seemed to go against the M’s!
  17. FS1 announcers were very casual about that Mateo play.
  18. They really have t been brutal, they’ve been taking and fouling off pitches.
  19. Looks we’re firmly middle of the pack in strikeouts, 18th in the MLB. Nice change from the last nearly 10 years
  20. It's a great stadium but you're right, that's ugly. They do have a $2.5 billion development project for that area coming called the "Diamond District" with a new stadium set to open by 2025.
  21. You act as if we don’t have the second most comeback wins in the league. Our guys are tested and have been great in big games.
  22. Right, our hitters don’t do that, just a bunch of lucky yahoos. get a grip, man.
  23. I don’t have a problem playing him there early, he’s looked ok out there. But not in the 9th inning with a few better options on the bench!
  24. Good point, they’ve been hiding Bautista all season, only letting him pitch against the bad ones.
