  1. yeah the prospects are all doing well the locked in roster players are not. If 5 games of spring training matter we'd be in for a 60 win season. Not a big deal. yet.
  2. i love it, going to interesting to see how the old and out of shape players handle fast pace. -- They're all gonna get left behind. Can only hide 1 guy at DH.
  3. not legally, this is a league wide fanbase problem where the MLB always says its trying to bring back or get more fans but black out games. Every fanbase has this problem. Me not a fan of constant tech changes even knows its time to get up with the times and accept streaming across the board and stop blacking out games on MLB.tv no matter where you are.
  4. per me calling him a sloth. 28, we know what he is and just going to be speed bump on the roster.
  5. Not like it's being excited about proven vet players tearing apart minor league pitching in ST game it's developing prospects, which many are hyped about off to a good start to 2023.
  6. (Ope i mean listening*) but im already mentally prepared to end up with a bench of guys like Maraza at the expense of someone like Stowers
  7. watching the young guys is exciting then there is a sloth bringing down the mood
  8. Well at least by not spending anything at all our chances of paying Ohtani next fall didn't drop below 1%. (or trading for / extending)
  9. Turning off those people, who aren't even fans who are so bored in life they gotta google search things to be mad at.
  10. winning games improves ticket sales, There is zero question on who wins you more games Bauer or w/e crumbs left over for the Orioles to choose from like every year ever. Orioles could possibly sign the best SP FA in the offseason for nothing but would rather get a Wacha then complain all year when he's getting starts over the youngsters who put up the same numbers as he. Do i think signing a Greinke/Wacha makes us worse? No, better? Not really but if your comparing who makes us better 1 of those 2 or Bauer, it's Bauer. Who also comes at no $ cost. -- But we'll be the Orioles and the Yankees, Rays, Blue Jays or Sox will end up with him once they get their 1st signs of rotation trouble and thrive.
  11. https://www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/article/79861/2023-prospects-the-top-101/ Orioles in Prospectus top 101, decided not to make another thread for same topic but other POV. 1. Henderson 8. Rodriguez 9. Holliday 38. Cowser 69. Mayo 74. Westburg 82. Norby 95. Hall
  12. good, dont have to hear about trading for Lopez anymore.
  13. Back to our weekly boredom of overrating Marlins SPs.
  14. Only reason i voted for a trade is not because we have needs + surplus assets that fit others needs to deal but also because other teams that have had lackluster offseasons also with needs + surplus in assets that we need... big trade might not be what happens but i think there will be one.
  15. Westburg Vavra Hays McKenna Stowers Westburg, Stowers, Hays, Vavra for me... but it will be McKenna over Vavra.
  16. our 2nd upgrade by subtraction
  17. Like it, regardless if there is a trade or not. Though i think there will be, anyways it's a safety net if prospects come up and fail wether it be in spring training or in season.... What if? -> Westburg cant hit or struggles in the field, Ortiz comes up and cant hit, Mateo takes steps back not forward(nor remains even to last yr offense)... If Frazier starts hitting like he did in Pitt then he likely becomes an everyday player, slight chance of that. He can also platoon with Hays if Westburg/Ortiz, Mateo force themselves into lineups daily.
  18. after we sign a catcher & whatever SP the rest of the league leaves for us around spring training time we'll be out of the bottom running lol
