  1. He has definitely put together a very nice season at both levels, I wish I could have made it to one of his Frederick starts. Hanifee and Knight have been pretty disappointing IMO this season, and they were both borderline top 15 in the pre season, at least Knight was I think. What about Sedlock? He's gotten on track this year as well. Do you think he can stick as a starter, or do you think eventually he'll be in the bullpen.
  2. I'll definitely take your word on Baumann Luke. Has he climbed that far this season? IIRC there were quite a few SP's ahead of him early in the season, and he was ranked 15-25 in most rankings I saw. He has definitely been on a roll since moving up to Bowie. It's nice having some young pitching to be excited about with Baumann, Kremer, Wells, Zimmerman, Lowther all having good seasons. I honestly can't remember the last time the farm had this much pitching talent at one time.
  3. Baumann and Carmona definitely shouldn't be there
  4. https://www.prospectslive.com/featured-articles/2019/7/22/top-10-prospects-al-east- Not sure how reliable this site and its rankings are, but I agree that the farm has come a long way in the last year. Hopefully Elias can continue to add some higher end talent to the system, and a few of the current guys turn into productive players for the O's.
  5. I dumped cable a few years ago because I couldn't justify paying $150 or so for the tv/internet bundle. I'm sure it's frowned upon by most but I purchase MLBTV, NFL Gamepass, and NBA League Pass and use a VPN to watch the O's, Redskins and Wizards. I think at some point in the near future cable as we know it will die and most networks will offer their own stand alone streaming services.
  6. Hopefully it's just the grind of a first full season. I don't see how 6-7 days between starts helps either.
  7. Always nice to see Boston in somewhat of a panic, I still don't think they are sellers though.
  8. Had to go a long way to grab it, nice catch, looked like he got a late break on it too
  9. I'd rather not have either. Offensively and defensively they are both below replacement level, but Smith is definitely worse.
  10. He pitched a good game today. It's always nice to take 2 of 3 from Boston
  11. I'll have to see if MLBTV has a highlight of it
  12. I'd rather not have either one, but Wilkerson does have more versatility. For whatever reason I just like Smith better, but stat wise they are pretty similar across the board.
  13. No I didn't, had to stop watching in the 7th
  14. Not really sure if he's a part of the future, but he should definitely be out there the rest of this season. I'd love to see Santander, Hays and Stewart as the OF the rest of the way with Smith as the 4th guy and Wilkerson gone.
  15. I said Givens, Villar and Mancini, possibly Alberto. I can't see Bundy getting traded right now, and nobody else on the roster will bring much if anything back.
  16. I'd say either Givens or Villar is next. Mancini is ice cold and Bundy is hurt so I think they'll both be here after the deadline.
  17. Who knows how either of these guys will turn out, but I'd much rather take two 17 year olds who we can develop than a few 23 year old AA players who won't progress much further than where they are, we got enough of those at last years deadline. Look at what KC just got for Bailey, I'll take our return over that any day.
  18. For the most part I'm fine with ticket prices, with the exception being the Elite/Prime games or whatever they are called now. It's pretty easy to find tickets for less than face value on the secondary market. Concessions is where they really need to adjust prices. My son and I sat 3 rows behind the O's dugout last time we went, and I paid $52 per ticket, add in parking I spent about $112. I don't remember the exact amount I spent on food and drinks, but it was nearly the same amount, and that was without beer, just Boogs, sodas, chicken tenders, pretzels, a lemonade and cotton candy.
  19. I think it's going to be a quiet trade deadline for the O's, with maybe a minor move or two. Honestly even if Elias did decide to move as many players as possible I just don't see anyone bringing back a significant return. Mancini and Cashner are our best assets and I doubt they would bring back anything better than maybe a fringe Top 100 prospect at best.
  20. I'm taking under 12 because I don't think he'll be on the team all season. Honestly I really just want him to pitch well so he can be traded for something decent at the deadline.
  21. I gave it a D. I was hoping to get someone a little higher on the Braves top 30, maybe Wentz or Contreras. The International money is good, but only if we get VVM.
  22. Personally I don't think it's odd they got a hitter as the main piece. Guys like Luke and Tony could give a much better opinion than I can, but I think our farm lacks high end hitting prospects after Mountcastle.
  23. I'm ok with the return. From everything I've been reading Diaz is a potential stud, and among all the names mentioned in trades from MIL, PHI, etc none of them could match Diaz without giving up guys deemed untouchable for a rental. As for the secondary pieces, like many, I was hoping for May and Lux or at least one of them. Bannon looks intriguing though, especially from a defensive standpoint and could possibly be our future 3B. The deal is done now, so we just have to hope Diaz is the real deal and maybe we'll get lucky and get something from the other 4.
  24. Only an injury will put him on the bench before his contract is up.
