  1. Brutal. It's not out of reach if Coulombe can get out of the inning, but... brutal.
  2. Is there any pen action? I haven't seen them say anything. (I hate watching these games with 'other' announcers)
  3. Irvin's not on the roster, right? So if Grayson really can't go far today, is there any choice but Flaherty to eat some innings? (And it pains me to say that)
  4. Now is the real test for G-Rod. Stay inside yourself and start setting them down.
  5. That was a beautiful slide by Gunnar, I thought he was going to be out based on the throw and where he was.
  6. Bat to ball! Way to come through, Hicks.
  7. Good to see them work Montgomery into 20+ pitches already. I hope they can keep this patience up.
  8. I have to admit I was ready to move on from Mounty earlier in the year. I'm really glad he came back strong and has been productive the last couple months.
  9. I'll take it. So at this pace, Grayson goes... 3+?
  10. Alright, it's already late where I am but I'm here but since I'm watching the game alone, I'm here to either commiserate or celebrate with my fellow O#s fans. Let's go.
  11. I think if Hicks knew Gunnar was running, he definitely would have swung. But since even Hyde didn’t know, Gunnar was on his own (and didn’t get a good jump, and it was a solid throw). Agreed, at least Hicks got on base, and also forced a pitching change. It was a close game where we didn’t have the timely hits. I don’t have any hostility about this one, I just hope we take the next 3 of 4!
  12. I like that two of the Rangers three wins this year came against Grayson 1.0 of the first half, rather than the Grayson 2.0 we’ve all enjoyed in the second half.
  13. Personally I’d rather see Means start a game at Camden than on the road.
  14. Texas has more guys hitting from the left side overall, a 50/50 split this year hitting as righties or lefties. Tampa Bay had only 38% of their ABs as lefties. But I think we can beat either team.
  15. Think whatever you want, but defending the idea that “Trevor Bauer is a good guy” is definitely not a hill I’m willing to die upon, nor even lightly tussle upon.
  16. No matter how clutch that double was, I really wish it wasn’t connected to such a human dirtbag as Delmon “I’m going to slap you in the face with money” Young.
  17. Thank you! I swear last year this was not an option (not to watch live, at least), so I just purchased the package. Okay, still aggravating that they kept the price the same for the annual subscription but removed the postseason, but at least now I don’t have to miss a pitch. Give that fan a contract!
  18. I am seriously annoyed that mlb.tv no longer carries the postseason like they used to. As an out-of-country viewer it means I need to stream it from FS1 or Fox, which I assume also means I have to watch it live (whereas on mlb.tv you can watch any ongoing or finished game from the beginning without any spoilers). I’m traveling Saturday and will likely miss the first few hours.
  19. I didn’t see the game last night and the recaps understandably focused on Wakefield’s passing. Bradish was pulled early to keep him fresh, and he wasn’t hurt, correct?
  20. The one thing I’m uncertain about with a team with very little postseason experience is how they handle nerves and all the added attention. Some guys continue to do what they did all year, and others seem to put too much pressure on themselves. I remember players like Adam Jones and Wieters whose postseason OPS were each south of .450, SSS notwithstanding (because for most players, SSS is often all you get). But this core had zero expectations, there is no “now or never” pressure, so I hope they go out without a care in the world… and just casually and meticulously knock down every opponent over the next three series.
  21. I never get hyped up over one start. Remember Mike Wright’s MLB debut, 7.1 innings against Mike Trout and the Angels, 0 runs, 0 BB, 6 K? But as someone later said of him after he crashed and burned, “million dollar arm, ten cent head.” You just never really know.
  22. The other option is to look for hotels close to the Light Rail stops in either direction of the stadium. That’s cheap and (fairly) reliable transport directly to and from Camden Yards.
  23. This season has been a magical one, and it made abundantly clear the enormous quality-of-life difference it makes in a baseball season where you’re playing great vs one where you’re the laughingstock of the game. It’s been a tremendous amount of fun. I would also like to add: WHOOOOOOO! WOOOHOOO! WOOOOHOOOHOOOHOO! Thank you.
