  1. He’s really bad and out of options.
  2. The real question is: which one is the best defender?
  3. I watched this TED talk a couple years ago about a guy who traded a paperclip for a house through a series of 14 trades. I’m sure Elias’ plan is to turn Yolmer into Mike Trout by the deadline.
  4. “Someone close to the program said (Turgeon) has been looking for power-five jobs back in the Midwest,” Bishop said. “That he is looking to get back home. He's from Topeka, Kansas. He was sniffing around the Wichita State job after they let go of Marshall, but Wichita State hired the assistant for a five-year deal. That's just a rumor. All rumors. But the guy told me Turg might be fed up with the pace of DC, get back home, slow it down a little bit." https://www.google.com/amp/s/247sports.com/Article/Mark-Turgeon-Maryland-Terrapins-basketball-looking-for-exit-Power-Five-job-Midwest-162995890/Amp/
  5. His recruiting is falling off a cliff. 2018: 7th 2019: 29th, mainly because of the Mitchell twins 2020: 58th 2021: 44th With the amount of talent in the DMV area, the recruiting results the last 3 years are pathetic. Recruiting was supposed to be the one thing that he’s good at, but he can’t even do that anymore.
  6. There’s a path to the Elite 8 if we can somehow knock off Alabama. Turgeon can change the narrative. I expect him to fail miserably.
  7. We can’t cut bait now. He’s gotta be close to the record for most years as a top 30 prospect.
  8. I have the Terps beating Uconn (not confident about it) and then losing to Alabama.
  9. I don’t see how defense is more important than offense in the era of three true outcomes. Seems like defense has never been less important since there are less balls in play.
  10. I didn’t say I would draft him top 5, but I guarantee teams don’t care about freshman year batting average when evaluating a player.
  11. According to baseball reference, it’s .254. It’s dragged down because he hit .232 as an 18 year freshman in the SEC. 60% of his career plate appearances were from his freshman season.
  12. Pathetic end to the regular season, losing to Northwestern and Penn State. Disappointed but not surprised because this is par for the course for Turgeon. Seems like the team has fallen off a cliff every March since he’s been here. Hopefully we miss the tournament and Turgeon is shown the door.
  13. It’s kinda amazing how bad #4 overall picks have been over the last 25 years but I still have no problem with labeling Matusz as a bust.
  14. Lol I wish I had coined the term but I’ve seen it on here and Testudo Times.
  15. They’ll make the tournament and lose in the first round. Turgeon will get an extension and we’ll be stuck in Turgetory for another decade.
  16. Zach Pop also made the list as a long shot “I want Zach Pop in the big leagues based on name alone, but I have trouble seeing him getting into a Top 100. Despite the big velocity, he’s more of a weak-contact producer than a pure bat missed, so it’s hard to see him in an end-of-game role.“
  17. Good for the Padres. He’s becoming the face of baseball.
  18. Last year was especially brutal with no March Madness or Masters.
  19. Imagine if he hadn’t worked on his defense for those 2 weeks. He’d be the worst fielder in baseball instead of the second worst.
  20. Yeah, he’ll probably take the $45MM next year and then opt out.
  21. Technically it’s not a multi-year deal until he picks up his option next year. The contract is 3/102 or whatever but will basically be 1/40 or 2/85. Unless he totally falls apart/gets injured.
