  1. He looks lost out there to me. Just in this game. He had no idea how to play that ball off the wall. He looks very lost.
  2. Here’s hoping he puts it together. I think he’s a lot like a Pat Valaika. He can do this, just needs confidence and lots of PT to get his feet wet. He’s clearly athletic enough but his bat and his defense have to come around. We weren’t going to really compete this year anyway so might as well have him get some reps and possibly be our 4th outfielder one day.
  3. Put valaika back out there. I mean, why not?
  4. Accountability is a two way street. Part of managing is knowing how to maximize talent. Part of the way of doing that is setting up people for success. You seem to want to throw around accountability without understanding its meaning and how it relates to managing.
  5. And that’s why I think Hyde is messing up Lakins by making him do things he’s simply not capable of doing currently. Trying different guys in situations like these would be the smart play. When a guy like Lakins loses confidence in his stuff, it can spiral downward quick. We saw the same thing happen to Sulser last year and yet Hyde went right back to the guy, over and over, and killed a lot of momentum the team had. I’m a bit biased however as I don’t think Hyde is the right guy for the job. He doesn’t seem to understand his personnel at all. We see that with pitching decisions and we see that with the infield as well.
  6. I’ve seen lakins implode in Arlington. He imploded last night. He keeps being out in high pressure situations and his confidence is waning. I blame Hyde more than anything there. He is doing the kid a disservice.
  7. I personally saw him muck up the game on Sunday in Dallas. I have not liked him ever since. you are banished to the blagole! Banished!!
  8. Bring on the next round of young arms. These guys screw up too much.
  9. Yeah that’s fine, but I’m talking about radio announcers. If you really want to bring back someone, just say bring back Joe Angel.
  10. Eh, he’s young. Second season. I’ll take excitement and passion over saying everything correctly any day.
  11. Loving their coverage. Brett and Geoff have been working with each other a lot and I really dig the excitement they bring to the game. Kevin Brown can work and make anyone better. Dude is a natural.
  12. Keep means, he is essential to the team in the next 2-3 years when we are really good. Harvey is the trade bait though I am really liking his stuff. If we could somehow get a sweetheart deal on resigning the guy, I’d love that to be honest.
  13. I know it’s a bit short sample size but the guy is slow, has a shaky glove, and can’t hit consistently. He does have power and a strong arm, but dude is reminiscent of Alberto with a less consistent bat. I know he is a stopgap but I really can’t wait to see guys like Westburg and Gunnar as those dudes are our future infield. Hell, at this point I’d like us to give Bannon a shot at third or Hall. I’m tired of seeing the dude out there.
  14. Lakins and Armstrong. Replace these two with worthy arms and the bullpen looks pretty damn good. Plutko looks like the real deal.
  15. Reminds me the time I went to Vegas. I was playing craps when a beautiful blonde came up to me and started up a conversation. We are getting along great and I’m thinking to myself “this can’t be happening” she asks if we can get out of here and I’m like “I really can’t believe this is happening” we head for the door and before we make it out she starts talking about pricing and my heart was crushed. And here I thought she really liked me for me. Oh to be 21 again.
  16. With 4 years of service time left...keep him and think in terms of age like what knuckleball pitchers are capable. No need to trade him when he will be there in some major capacity when we finally are good again. He’s also a complete outlier in the game of baseballs and gives us a differentiated product.
  17. Further confirmation Orioles baseball fans rank near the top of the list of depressed sports fans. Sheesh.
  18. Tony Korn and Mikey Wilb had a segment about the Orioles but I was drinking beer flirting with the waity to read what they said. They have it muted so I would’ve had to read the damn CC. Nobody got time for that.
  19. The infield is full of stopgaps. Can’t wait to see Gunnar.
  20. My thoughts? I’ll take the spot. I’m currently killing it slinging drinks.
  21. I’ll definitely see about driving up for Sunday’s game for sure!
  22. I’d say we just go full on minor league style and have fans call the games. Screw it. There’s getting less and less of a reason for MASN to pay for any of these guys anyway. Most of the time, Palmer is talking about himself. Most of the time, Garceau is boring and has a greater fondness for talking about the other team. And I know they don’t have a choice in this but seeing that giant piece of plexiglass separating the two while they are in the booth together is truly hysterical.
