  1. I mean here a player is wearing it and during an interview, you can clearly hear it, so it’s louder than we think.
  2. I mean, if the batter could hear this…yeah that’d be a huge problem.
  3. I mean, sure, but Manfred also protected the players so…anyway, that’s beside the point. I’m more interested in how this would be theoretically pulled off and to what extent it would be an advantage. The Sanchez at bat was strange so I’ll do a little research on pitchcoms and see if there’s anything there.
  4. So in the age of pitchcoms…how would this be done? Does the pitchcom tell what type of pitch and the location as well? I assume so, I’ve just never used one. With any technology there is the ability to circumvent it and hack into its result. So is that happening here? Or can the batter hear the pitchcom?
  5. Exactly. He was definitely bringing something to light that he noticed while watching at home. I thought it was quite interesting and Kevin Brown did not want to touch that thought with a ten foot pole because there really wasn’t any follow up by him which also is odd.
  6. Ben Macdonald alluded to something being off with their at bats yesterday and now today…is there merit to what Ben was talking about today?
  7. Or if they re-embrace sticky stuff so it requires less wear on the pitchers elbows to generate spin. Spin is prized and those who can do so effectively and consistently are what MLB is looking for. Not only does it generate movement, it also hides the pitch to the batter. I honestly wouldn’t mind it if the batters were ok with it.
  8. Come back to us! This is honestly exceptional what he’s been able to do with his recovery, especially in light of the recent Strider news.
  9. Here’s the promo tag line: ”The Milkman Cometh” (which coincidentally could be a 70s porno title)
  10. I agree and as we know from Hays he is a Jekyll and Hyde player. He will have a great first half but a terrible second half and vice versa. Let’s hope that plays into a killer second half. That being said, he has an option and he has also earned some leeway to figure it out, but if I’m Hyde, I’ve got a mental timer on him figuring it out by May. If that doesn’t happen, it’s an easy sell to him to send him down to AAA so he can get his mind right. When he does, he can come back and mash and all will be well. In the long run, it’ll be good for him, truly.
  11. Sadly Hays has always been a free swinger. He has never shown to consistently see pitches, work the count and he just frankly swings for the downs every time. It has never matched the player profile Elias strives for and with that, if you aren’t going to get value from him, he simply has to be sent down to make way for someone who’s ceiling is much higher like Stowers or Kjerstad. It’s unfortunate, but he has to get his mind right. Maybe mashing in AAA will get his confidence back and he can come back like Mully when he was sent down or Greyson when he was sent down. it isn’t the end of the world, but come May if he doesn’t figure it out, Hyde knows he’s going to have to make room for someone who can.
  12. If hays continues to scuttle…I think it might be time to send him down to AAA to figure it out and bring Stowers up. Stowers does have success against lefties so he might be a good backup for both Cowser and Mully.
  13. Ah come on, hook us up with an international pick at least! But yeah, the way the Milkman is going right now…I’m starting to wonder if Hyde leaves him in against lefties as well.
  14. Right? What the heck are the angels doing? I get the feeling they either have no idea about baseball or just don’t want to win at this point.
  15. I agree and I think that’s what triggered the start of the thread for me. The post game interview with Jackson struck a different chord with me. It felt to me like he really meant those words and upon uttering, a little shy about it, but after I saw a different resolve. I’m probably reading way too much into it, but man, it just felt different to me.
  16. Perhaps a better title should be “Brothers in Belief” belief in a higher power, sure, belief in each other, most definitely.
  17. My only problem with this thinking is, what would he have to do? Prove that last year wasn’t a fluke? Perhaps the goal and hope is for him to have a good first half, trade him at the deadline for some lottery pick pitching prospects and bring up Stowers to platoon with Cowser. After all, Stowers has proven to really hit against left handers and that’s something we will need tremendously in the playoffs.
  18. Yes that is a very good summation of the spirit of my original post and I think indicative of what makes a good team and specifically a player. Look, at this level, everyone is an incredible player, but what gives a team an edge in my estimation is the intangibles, values, morals, trust and love for your teammates, etc. it all adds up.
  19. Is it possible to simply send hays or urias down to AAA? We did that with Mully way back when to get him right and it worked, is that not possible here as well?
  20. Exactly, that was the point of the thread. No talk of one way of belief being better than the other. Simply, I’m damn proud to support these O’s and am glad they love this game, love playing for each other and glorify the Lord doing it. It’s a neat culture that Elias has built and perhaps that plays into the early success we have seen with such a quick turnaround. I would love to be in the room where Sig, Elias and his team of scouts are gathered, discussing the draft and dissecting potential players as it seems to me there is a definite player profile that tends to trend toward success.
  21. Every so often I’ll go back to the Delmon Young double and relive that moment. That was the single greatest sports moment of my life.
  22. Yeah not quite the same. That Jesus looks more like a Red Sox fan than the majestic childlike stencil of our Lord and Savior. I swear this thing was a one off or something. Never seen anything like it.
  23. Well westy is just going to have to keep ripping bombs in late inning comebacks then. Or maybe Cowser this time. Or maybe Adley. Or hell even Hays! Now that would be miraculous!
