  1. Does that container have the soil or is that some kind of Maryland condiment that I'm not aware of?
  2. Late watching the game as usual, still in top of the first for me. But does anyone see Sweet Baby James era James Taylor in Kremer's look? That era reminds me of this classic movie, his only starring role in a dramatic film (with Dennis Wilson of Beach Boys and Warren Oates).
  3. I'm an inning or two behind on the game on MLB-TV, but has anyone pointed out that Rutschman looks like Evel Knievel with that special July 4th catching gear?
  4. With the crowd roar going on during all the excitement of the play, it's probably hard to hear anyone yelling to tell you what to do. I think that's why the runner didn't try to go back to the base as he didn't hear the coach, and Mountcastle didn't hear it as a clue he should tag him either.
  5. i agree, and I kept yelling at the TV, but I think with him losing the ball, he didn't see him miss the bag. He just assumed the runner did. And I'm not even sure anyone else in the infield had an angle to see him miss the bag either (EDIT: I see Bautista did). Just one of those things. We had the great angle, the rest on the field didn't. Bang-bang.
  6. I just noticed that on Facebook today. Came over here to say the same. Missing our buddy.
  7. His and Bradish's 'stache both remind me of this minor character from Twin Peaks Season 3. Actor Caleb Landry Jones.
  8. Under Armour World at Fort McHenry.
  9. It’s been a very long time, but when I asked Weams about her several years ago, I was told she had a debilitating illness. And I really don’t recall any news beyond that. I will search my email archive when I get home from this road trip. Her last activity on the board was 2015.
  10. Maybe Ray and Dave Davies can pitch in to buy the team and keep it in Charm City. At least they are getting along now.
  11. One would think. Don't ask me how, but somehow he finds a way to do it all and look like a member of the Gas House Gang doing it.
  12. My wife says the same. And I can see that. Also the way he smacks his gum, he kind of reminds me of this kid in Fever Pitch.
  13. Maddon wears yoga pants*. * My favorite bumper sticker. Before that it was "Jeter drinks wine coolers".
  14. He's scrappy and I love him. Plus with that nutty haircut, with his helmet off in the dugout, he looks like a very young Gene Hackman.
  15. I've heard of throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but under the bus? He's breaking new ground on the blame game. I guess the doctor is under the bus as well.
  16. Oh, she loved Brady, yes indeed. But this is why I always remember that phrase from her about Roberts, quoted above.
  17. This is endearing and brings back memories of cindyluvsbrady. I think she used to say this about Brian Roberts back in the day. She was the first Hangouter I ever met, at Cal's induction to the HOF.
  18. Ebbets Field had a beer sign that had that H or E feature. https://twitter.com/timhoiland/status/922973738097881088?s=20&t=JAYFXQ8kj8I4v5yUoCIvuw
  19. And freeing things up for a far better view of the train station. And actually, much more of the warehouse would be seen as well.
  20. Thanks! If I'm not mistaken Weams sent my idea and this drawing of a proposed redesign to someone in the O's front office several years ago. Crazy if some of it actually occurs.
  21. I would love the scoreboard moved towards LF behind the statue court (obscuring the Hilton!), so at least most of the park could see most of historic Camden Station, which it has always partially blocked. After the Hilton blocking the Bromo Tower (except for a few seats high up in first base side upper deck), this would be a nice move. I did a Photoshopped imagining of this several years ago. I added more rooftop seats where the scoreboard is now, as well as an auxiliary scoreboard in right for those in LF who won't have to crane their necks to see a scoreboard.
  22. I was very accustomed to Garceau on TheFan on the afternoon show, so at least his voice has, for me at least, a comfort zone I'm happy with. I'm not as particularly fussy about his style, etc. as I rely on my eyes more than what's being fed to me on TV. If he were solely on radio, then I'd probably be more critical. But I rarely listen to the radio play by play these days. Newman did fine the last time I heard her, with Palmer. My wife was really happy to hear her doing the PBP as she watches about half the games with me. As far as just the sound or tone of the voices, I like Garceau's and I know that's something Newman can't do anything about. It's a comfort thing for me as I'm used to him on his radio show. But I have nothing against Newman. Palmer is really the only one that truly moves the needle either way (in a positive direction) when he's part of a broadcast team. His stories and insight are still a big draw for me.
  23. As mentioned, it was evident that Mancini was not pleased with his blast (resulting in a double) roughly a foot from going out. But I think he got some teasing when Mountcastle and Urias went over the same wall (Ryan's was about three rows from the cement wall of the next section) back to back. I'm guessing he got some "I don't see a problem with that wall". There was definitely a lot of joking after both HRs. I could sense there would be some dugout teasing was on the way after his HR into the bullpen in his next at bat, ie. the silent treatment and then the joking afterwards. And yes, another "Walltimore" reference here. https://www.mlb.com/news/trey-mancini-homers-as-orioles-defeat-mariners?game_pk=661343
  24. Yeah, I know. And you're right. Preaching to the choir. I'm one of the biggest supporters of the rebuild. But my joke was he's feeling like he won the argument. I can't even feel like I get a joke right. World 2 - NashLumber 0.
