God forbid we don't have ghost outfielders in our intrasquad games.
Or infielders in the outfield

I’m confused about Smith and Santander.
Dan Connolly wrote an Athletic article using the words “no show” about them.
Sir Loin said they were in a hotel.

I'm hoping for the Maryland Menhaden

I was surprised to see Nick Markakis and Manny Machado tied at an average of 91.2 mph, ranked #32 and #33, overall.
Shocked to see Mike Trout down at #50. Guess he has some extra special voodoo in his bat.
Those three caught my attention too

Not a lot of other guys on the Orioles who have being OPSing the upper 80s recently though

Martin out with broken wrist: Richie Martin is out with a broken bone in his right wrist. He was hurt diving back into first base in Friday night’s intrasquad. Originally, the Orioles though he had a laceration underneath a finger nail on his left hand.
I did that in college diving into first. Was In a cast for four weeks.

Didn't we have a team that finished the year 4-32? My memory is a little fuzzy.
Edit:The season was 2002
2002 was incredible! So amazing it was impressive.

I love watching Puig play and he is only 29.
Spening on a guy in hopes of building trade value is an interesting move for a rebuilding club.
Would be a nice cudgel against the anti-ownership people who say the Orioles are cheap.
Interesting

Mountcastle's 23. He needs MLB at bats now or he'll be too old to be a top prospect.
Exactly.

McDonalds are packed as well. G&M food seems unhealthy to me just like Pappis. . They don't know how to make a decent crabcake or coleslaw for that matter IMHO.
I usually get steamed crabs at Nicks Fish House. Not sure what type of crabs they have but the location is nice and the crabs taste pretty good. Only problem is they are always so crowded.
Last time I checked Nick's used crabs from the bay in season, Louisiana out of season.

What does that have to do with what we were talking about?
I thought the topic was legitimacy of the World Series.

I do not believe that, though I'm probably in the minority there. For me, chopping the season to this extent pretty much takes the legitimacy out of the process. I'd rather they hadn't played at all this year.
More than when the Royals played the Giants in the World Series?

It surprised me a little, because Nick's known for his outstanding durability, though I'm certainly not going to knock him for his decision. It makes for some interesting possibilities for the Braves OF situation. Do they use both of their 21 year old OF prospects - Pache and Waters. With Freeman also potentially out and with the NL using the DH for the first time, the Braves might be looking for a 1st baseman/corner OFer type that can hit.
The Orioles have an entire menu of those.

They could take all the fielders off one side on the field and then all you have to do is hit it to that side. Oh, wait.

I'm curious how you mean that. Do you mean folks like Mountcastle and Diaz and are you talking going all out and bringing up Hall, Rodriguez and Adley?
I meant the upper level players like Mountcastle, Diaz, etc. BTW I don’t have a huge problem with the beginning roster not having those guys if that makes the team better long term, just pointing out that there are some players intentionally being left of the active roster.

Great insight! We are naturally the worst team in the league. So the more baseball is dicked around with, the better our chances of ending up with a favorable outcome!
To be fair, they are artificially the worst team. If they let the best 26 play, they would win more games.

That was quite a lineup.

I also think they like the optics better. If those guys don’t report until late then it takes a while to get game ready and before you know it they have an extra year of service time.

I asked this question in another thread, but it will make more sense in this one now.
If this is true and the MiLB season is cancelled, what does that do to our 30 and 60 man rosters for the MLB season? Do we decided to let guys like Rutchman, Mountcastle, and the other top prospects play? ST workouts and intersquad reps won't give them the experience they need to get better. These guys need to play.
My biggest fear, obviously from a pure baseball perspective, with the pandemic was how this was going to affect our player development. I think the guys at the very top of our talent pool could tread water in MLB without it being a detriment to their development. This is far from ideal, but I think putting those guys on the shelf for a year is worse.
Someone on here much smarter than me will know what we should do. I'll take my answer off air.
A lot of the people who think in a similar way to Elias and Mejdal believe that you can accomplish just as much training the players without minor league games. I guess we will find out. Might not hurt the young guys to hit live pitching that has played AAA or pitched a little in the majors even it is isn't a "real" game.

So can the all-time pitcher force a ghostman out at third if he gets there before the runner gets to first and there were ghostmen at first and second?
That would be the standard interpretation of the rule, yes.

The Orioles should ask if they can have a runner start at second in the first inning.

That guy makes me feel like a praying mantis.

The Brewers were using it at practice yesterday and they played boos when Yelich came up to hit. Pretty funny.
