It was one start against (arguably) the best team in the AL. Let's give him some time. Not saying he's going to win a Cy Young, but he could be a servicible starter.

One of my favorite tropes of Orioles baseball is listening to the announcers compliment and defend him when he does poorly. It's been going on for years. "Did you see that? He took some real good cuts on that strike out..." "Davis absolutely mashed that ground ball to third base that ended the inning" "Say what you want about him going 50 ABs without a hit, he sure knows how to field a ball down at first base" "Yea he's 1-11, but he sure is putting on muscle" It's so sad lol

This is scary stuff. I think it's a little premature to say this is the end of the MLB season, but who knows... Hope they're ok.

I'd take a .780 OPS from our 26-year old 3B making the league minimum. Excited to watch Ruiz this season and see if he fits into a bigger picture...

Awesome series. Santander looked great defensively and offensively. And I haven't seen an Oriole shortstop hitting like that since JJ Hardy. Now we get a Miami team that just lost its RF, 1B, C, and a SP to a Covid quarantine. I never thought I'd say it, but with the 16-team playoff, this might just be interesting. The race to come in third place in the AL East and squeeze underservingly into the playoffs is on!

Imagine winning 107 regular season games (19' Astros) and getting knocked out of the playoffs in two games by a 78 win team (19' Rangers) lol

Gotta say, I'm not into this. I like the 10 team playoff system a lot. I've loved it since it debuted in the 2012 season and we won the Wild Card game... I'm also, of course, on board with this rebuild and have faith in Elias and co. That said..... This would be SUCH a fun year to be a .500 team. I'm jealous.

Happy for young Yaz. My friend who's a Giants fan says he one of the few bright spots on that team now, especially with Posey gone.

I'm not super high on Milone or anything, but one stat that did catch my eye: Last season he had the lowest WHIP (1.119) and H9 (8.2) of his 11 year MLB career. That's a lower WHIP than ANY of the 35+ pitchers the O's used last year, exept for Hunter Harvey. And unlike Harvey, Milone threw 111.2 innings. That gave me at least some hope. At 33, he seems to have learned to limit base runners.

I think this is spot on. Hopefully we'll be surprised though.

Mountcastle looked a little slow and awkward in LF. Though I've barely seen him play out there and should probably reserve judgement.
