  1. If the O's play Detroit, I know exactly who should throw out the first pitch:
  2. No, you're right. That's a good point.
  3. Haha true. But that was $161 million. I'm proposing something more like the JJ Hardy deal (adjusted for inflation). Hardy was only worth 1.7 WAR over those last 3 years, so I guess it was a "bad deal" on paper. But he helped the O's get back to the playoffs in 2016 and he helped to anchor a young infield.
  4. Yea, I think he'll get more than that, too. But personally, I'd do that deal. I was against it in the beginning of the year, but I think the O's offense needs his bat, particularly in 2025. Plus he seems like he's in great shape. Fielding Bible graded him as having a positive DRS (1) in 71 innings at 1B last year, too. It just feels like the window is gonna be WIDE open next season. We might have to slightly overpay to put the finishing touches on this team. But maybe I'm too bullish on Anthony.
  5. Alright, so seems like the consensus on here is "No" to 4/80. Let's keep the bidding going, would you say yes to 3 years, $55 million? That would be about 18 million each for his age 30, 31, and 32 seasons. This year's qualifying offer is like $21.2 million.
  6. Would you offer Santander 4 years, $80 million?
  7. Norby has been coming back down to earth. He's 2-23 with 10 Ks and no extra base hits over the past week. OPS has dropped over 100 points. Currently .784
  8. I think it would reignite a rivalry between the teams that could last for years. Gunnar vs. Witt The two best players under 25 in the world.
  9. Really excited to have Urias and Westburg back.
  10. I feel like Santander's game could age better. He's a 40 homer guy who can shift to 1B and DH. In a small sample size, he's graded as a plus defender at 1st. Mullins' value relies more on speed and defense, which could slip away faster with age.
  11. Getting Eflin, Grayson, Coulombe, and Westburg back before the playoffs will be huge. Also, its been an awesome time to be someone whose favorite player is Ramon... Every other AL contender is imperfect, too. Yankees scare me the most.
  12. Ramon Urias and Albert Suarez have quietly kept this team in the division race since the break.
  13. As a 34 year old lifelong O's fan, Nick Markakis was the man. He and Jones are my two favorite Orioles of all time.
  14. Obviously the money has to be right (and probably incentive-heavy) but I say yes. This season has shown that you need an army of starting pitchers. He's a fan favorite who can pitch like a #1-2 at his best. He's a lefty in the Walltimore-era. I'd love to see him back. Also, if the O's win it all this year, I hope they give him a ring. 2.61 ERA in his four starts and we won three of those.
  15. Urias OPS over the past 14 days: .979 Urias OPS since May 2nd: .807
  16. Urias OPS over the past 14 days: .979 Urias OPS since May 2nd: .807
  17. Yea that's a good point. You come in during the 7th with the bases loaded and two outs. You let up a three-run double. Then you walk a guy. Then you strike a guy out and leave with your tidy 0.00 ERA
  18. Which I would also consider lower-middle of the pack.
  19. The 2024 O's have a 4.18 ERA... Lower middle of the pack. Hardly historically bad.
  20. Great stuff. On the other hand, two of the first four guys on your list won World Series rings during those age 30-34 seasons. Sometimes you gotta push your chips in for an important veteran when your window is open. He could be the difference in 2025 or 2026…
  21. The O's have a World Series rotation on the IL. 1. Bradish 2. Grayson 3. Eflin 4. Means 5. Wells
