  1. I believe 3, but he was put on Norfolk’s roster on Tuesday. Players usually aren’t listed until they report. Unless, of course, the Orioles are changing things again.
  2. For what it’s worth, Stewart hasn’t played a game or even had a single at bat for Norfolk yet.
  3. Pretty sure there is a difference between a “boo-boo on his forearm” (that could be turning into something bad) vs. just being overly cautious 5 games into the season. Or maybe he learned his lesson after the David Hess incident in Toronto…
  4. It figures the Rays would be one of the first teams to do that.
  5. I’m sure there was no family bias at all for their words.
  6. Plus half the outfield and just have them pinch hit for half the team.
  7. It's an interesting strategy. It goes against what has been said for decades, but it makes sense for guys who just throw hard who might not have the best control. Instead of nibbling, just let it rip. But I wonder how this will impact arm injuries and also how much of this is based on "the crackdown." On a side note, I remember some complaints from last season when Wynns was catching and would "move around" during the wind up and sometimes set up low (while Severino just wouldn't move unless the ball went directly to his glove.) If he was instructed to do that (since he never did that in the Minors, ever), maybe they saw it didn't help or had some complaints about it as it WAS weird, maybe this was their way of correcting it?
  8. He is a great guy but basing his future MLB manager skills on him being the manager for the best team in MiLB last season and a super stacked MiLB team now is not it. He would get 8-10 more wins at the MLB level possibly by bringing some Norfolk players with him.
  9. I’m sure he will be in Florida again at some point.
  10. Who comes back first: Diaz or Kjerstad?
  11. Nah, just keep moving the fences back instead of getting pitching.
  12. Roch might be arrested for treason soon.
  13. Remember when they kept Chris Davis instead of him?
  14. I’m surprised we got as much info as we have so far.
  15. Diaz has pull tabs all over his muscles that says “incase of a hot bat, pull here.”
  16. It just fills your heart with joy.
  17. This post is contradictory to the lesson you learned. Your opinion is noted and was commented on. As others have said, this board is probably one of the least toxic of any major sporting team. However, when you have a long, long, LONG stream of failure as what the Orioles have been going through, there won’t be a lot of “bright spots.” Some people take it harder than others. This place allows both discussion (like Tony said about needing to produce data to back a claim) and venting. Some people are just fed up with stuff and set in their ways, but are still fans and come here to complain because it helped them through another losing season. Have you ever seen anything on Twitter or other sites? Fans of other teams vent even more at times, during much MUCH better times. Since you ended one post with a lesson you learned, I will end this with one I learned. If you want to be involved in discussions but get run off by a little fire from someone’s belly, grow some thicker skin and jump in. Passion isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. You’re an Orioles fan. Welcome to the suck.
  18. It looks like a Green Monster wannabe. I’m curious how much it cost to do that. Couldn’t they have spent the money on better pitching instead of screwing over the left fielder and righties?
  19. So…Who is he going to be getting at bats over? Norfolk will have 4 catchers when not on the road, Stowers should come back soon (but who knows with all the updates the Orioles give), Diaz had been hot so far…
  20. Got the start in the second game of the season for Aberdeen. Went 4 innings, with 4 hits (1 hr), 2 walks and 4 strike outs. Was missing a little but limited any real damage as the home run was a solo shot and the only run allowed. He piggybacked with Zack Peek last season towards the end of the year in Delmarva and had a lot of great games (including a combined 1 hitter). While he didn’t seem “comfortable” this game, he did get tuned in after a long first inning. Interested in seeing how he progresses this season in an…Interesting…Aberdeen rotation.
