  1. As far as I know, it’s still going on. The best place to find potential protected players is by checking out the AAA teams rosters. I don’t know a way to find who is available. The most recent “star” they drafted was Martin Cervenka. The biggest “star” any team had drafted recently was the White Sox selecting Yermin Mercedes from the birds a few seasons ago.
  2. Fenter was a MiLB FA and was picked in the Rule 5 draft last season by the Cubs, but returned during the spring. This is a minor league deal but no mention of a Spring invite (possibly due to the current lockout.)
  3. I mentioned it a few times. Saw both Gallo and Schwarber hit the warehouse in batting practice. Both hit near the “C” painted on the building. Gallo hit just below it, Schwarber hit halfway up the letter, a few feet to the right of it.
  4. They offered him the deal now but will wait until after the new agreement to do the physical? Sounds like Elias is gonna spend a few hundred to send a pizza to Lyles house during negotiations.
  5. Buck Britton with the big promotion while Kyle Moore and Felipe Alou both jump up too.
  6. My favorite memory of him was his 3 home run game in Texas when the 3rd one bounced up and was about 2 feet from my glove. Thank you Pedro for the MASN air time.
  7. They can clear out whoever they want and get more spots for selections. They just can’t add anyone to protect them from the draft.
  8. Who had Gillespie on their Bingo card?
  9. Need to check his stats. But there goes 1 spot for the Rule 5 protectee’s.
  10. In 2020, Blach got hurt and required Tommy John surgery, then was released. He was re-signed to a MiLB deal for 2021 so he could rehab and get some game innings in Low A, usually just going 2-3 innings. Due to his MLB experience, his MiLB deal was only 1 year. The Orioles did him a favor with the signing and they could re-sign him on a MiLB deal with a Spring Training invite (if he is fully healed) or just a MiLB deal and assign him to a higher level to continue to rehab and get his pitches back before using him as depth.
  11. It looks like he chose free agency over Norfolk, which he was eligible to do due to the rule you quoted. But like you said, he could always come crawling back on a MiLB deal if the other teams don’t offer a MLB one.
  12. Eh…In my opinion, it depends on the CBA. If “service time” stuff gets taken out, I think the only catchers they sign are whoever takes an MiLB deal and puts them in a battle to be Adley’s backup. If service time still means something, then I could see them signing someone to a MLB deal, which gives them more options.
  13. I don’t see a catcher getting a MLB deal. I also see them leaving atleast 3 spots open for the Rule 5 draft. However…The CBA ends before the draft, so…
  14. Along with Chris Ellis, who was outrighted and elected free agency.
  15. Well, you can technically say Mancini brought a ring to Baltimore.
  16. Is she arbitration eligible this year?
