At this point, not even sure he is. Both are outstanding with the glove, and this might or might not be an upgrade.

The decision to go small payroll, leads some of the fans to jump to the conclusion that they are wanting money to line the pockets of the owners and to heck with the fans. Small money goes against, what they said back in 2019 about building a strong contender for the long run. These current deals are not building a strong contender.

Tony, its not just this board, but other boards are also on fire, some even worse than here. Elias supporters are attacking people who are clearly concerned with the direction that Elias has been showing for the past several months. They are taking it above discussion boards talk and making it personal.

Everybody wants to be in the WS, but like Weams would say. Playing meaningful baseball games in the late Fall is all we can hope for, and sure beats being out of it by the end of May.

Somebody that can hit and drive in the runs, middle of the order, 3-4-5 slots. HRs are nice, but doubles are pretty effective.

Ok I get it. Not sure I agree with your opinion of all the time, I see 2 seasons, he barely pitched, and another a bit more, but the other 5 are above 20 starts or better. Roch doesnt believe he is coming here, so maybe, this is all just killing time during the winter.

You act like he was a bad pitcher in 2015. There are many pitchers who are MEH or barely above average, until they learn the act of pitching, or come up with their "out" pitch. Jake Arrieta comes to mind, Curt Schilling, etc. As a lefty, and breathing, with decent stats, yes, I would take a flyer on him. But, we can agree to disagree, no worries, its all good.

Why are you so anti- Rodon? A lefty that has thrown two 5.+ WARs, cant be all that bad. No FA pitcher is worth what they are getting in the market.

Elias bringing Brady back for GM Closer role, would be hard for some to swallow.

That would be a pleasant surprise and a willingness to spend money.

I believe having Hyde managing the new guys well, and keeping the guys to play well, helps a ton.
