Elias's lift off, was more of a dud, totally misfiring by not firing.

There is a bit more than that, but thats a private conversation we had that will remain private. I hope he is well, and doing okay for himself.

Im not too impressed with the dude he got on the 1 year deal. They dump the guy making 10 mill, sign the older guy making 11 mill while his career is a bit better, he had a worse year. I think Elias doing doing smoke and mirrors, and a disservice to the fans, but thats just an opinion not shared by all.

Fact - He told the B Sun, its hard to find pitching that doesnt want more than a 1 year deal. Fact - He said the same thing today in another interview. Nobody is making up anything.

He has emphasis that its hard to find pitching on 1 year deals, to multiple sources. His only FA pitching signing was a 1 year deal. Sorry if some of us are playing attention.

its pretty obvious that "his" plan of acquiring talent, is pretty hosed. I think he is done for FAs and we can look forward to the rule V and the college draft.

took my grandson to an Orioles game in August, Houston and Trey was in town, it was a good time. Got left field seats for $40, and it included all you could eat hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and peanuts, as well as all you could drink soda. Obviously there are different level of deals, and throw in parking, I was out $100 for two and was okay with it.

You never brought popcorn or soda at the movies, or did you not goto any movies either. Heck, I enjoy Bowie Baysox games, and they have much cheaper food than OPCY, but you are going to pay for it.

Your plenty of time left in the off-season. I guess as I age, my patience is thinning out, and just win baby win. I know Elias plays is tight to his chest, so we really dont know if he is kicking tires on anything. I just have this nightmare, that ST comes and Elias is going to say, I tried, and just going getting anybody to ink up. I know there is no evidence to point to this, and I hope to be wrong.

so far, the blast off has been only talk, total crickets on real movement. Granted, winter meetings hasnt happen yet.

I dont disagree with either of you. My biggest problem with the front office. Up till this season, I had no issues with Elias, he was doing what he was hired to do. Dont pretend and mislead us by telling the fans, you are going to blast off and contend, and then not even try, especially at trade deadline, the team was playing well and you threw in the towel.

Expect them to spend, sure, in a fantasy land, I love to see them spending that much, and they could. I dont see them coming remotely close to that.

I think most publications/analysts had zero clue this team would play at the level they did, including the Oriole's own front office.

I think some of us are putting so much hope into those words of liftoff, yet, our brain knows its really not going to happen.

My dream, line up 4 top notch starters and when Means is healthy can be their #5 for the end of 2023. That rotation would rock.
