  1. yup we're losing this on a sac fly, NYY will play small ball better this inning.
  2. We'll lose on some BS sac fly now after our guys strike out the side.
  3. If the Yankees haven't had the clutch defensive plays this series could have been already ours.
  4. We really need to stop with the pinch hitting simply because it's a lefty vs right or vice versa. Some dudes are just not good for that.
  5. Hays does not need to PH for anyone.
  6. Yea I get that way of thinking. I just personally think surgery was always going to be necessary here. An now we get basically nothing from Bradish in 2024 OR 2025. I'm not an expert, and I don't know what the injury looked like 6 months ago. But neither does anyone else on here. Simply saying "trust the people that made the decision" is a bit simplistic.
  7. We don't know what the actual discussion was with his injury. It could have literally been "There's a 5% chance you can get through this via rehab". We did the same thing with Bautista. Don't act like looking at this the opposite way means you have any better idea of what the injury looked like back in March than I did.
  8. What percentage of guys actually recover from that injury without surgery? like 1 out of 50?
  9. Was his 39 innings this year really worth sacrificing basically the entire 2025 season?
  10. I was going to say we don't need another LH bat, but he has crushed lefties this year. I feel like his name value will be more expensive than he'd actually add though.
  11. I was just about to post the same thing. He's a straight rental, I don't think he'd cost that much given his age, injury, and upcoming FA. We really need to revamp our rotation for next year, but I suppose we can worry about that this offseason. Side note- I like targeting Max Fried this offseason if we are willing to hand out a reasonable contract (and not the $ Burnes will want/get).
  12. Starters that have never really pitched a full season definitely scare me.
  13. They seemed to make a great defensive play every time we got a runner on.
  14. At least we can save our real bullpen arms for the rest of the series.
  15. I like the Goldeneye music playing lol
  16. The Yankees were long due for some karma since CC intentionally hit Markakis in the hand right before the playoffs in 2012.
  17. Feel like it's a win just to keep it at 3.
  18. I think we all know Kjerstad and Norby are the guys being sent. Everyone wants Mayo or Basallo but there's no reason for us to do that unless we are getting a perennial all star under 2 1/2 or more years of control.
  19. Next year's rotation is going to entirely depend on what we are willing to spend. This offseason will probably give our first real glimpse into that. Sure, we may not spend the money for Burnes. But there's other FA's out there that we could pay for, even if it's just a one year deal. Max Fried, Max Scherzer, Charlie Morton, Jose Quintana, Walker Buehler, Sean Manaea are other options.
  20. Luzardo screams "flames out in a few years" to me. No thanks, or at least for what he'll cost. Robert has played literally one full season of baseball in his entire life. Again, too much risk and no thanks. Crochet would be a good target, because we get him for 2 1/2 years and is an elite lefty. Given where CHW are, a package with Kjerstad and one of our young pitchers (headlining) makes sense for both teams. If we are forced to effectively give up on Mullins or Hays (either BC of injury or general suckiness), Taylor Ward does make sense. His name has been tossed around a lot. His splits playing against AL East teams kinda scare me, but he's a RH bat that can play good defensive OF and under team control for a few years and probably won't cost much. As for bullpen arms, this seems like the hardest to predict. CHW doesn't really have anybody pitching well there. The Marlins have our old friend Tanner Scott, but he isn't anything near a sure thing like other experienced closers. Mason Miller will cost too much. Chapman may make sense if DC is out. As a 36 year old rental he won't cost as much, which will be important if we go all in for a starter. His wildness will make our blood boil but he still has the swing and miss stuff and obviously a ton of playoff experience. Maybe Beeks from COL? Another lefty bullpen rental.
  21. With Tony, you are always just hoping he can tread water enough early in the season and his otherwise "off" months. He always seems to have 2 huge months and then struggle the rest.
  22. I'm worried about GRod against Schwarber for a 4th time.
  23. Not a gold glove play there
