Checking in, what’s the deals with Cowser PR for Mullins?

Are we really worried about having O'Hearn beyond next year though? (If I am understanding the dilemma right)

Frazier is 5-12 lifetime off Alcantara. Probably something to do with him out there.

Hader makes sense if he'd actually be available. I feel like SD is going to believe they are still in it until way later then they should.

No matter how you shake it i think a relief arm is the way to go. I don't think there will be a SP available worthy of the haul we'd have to give up. I'd rather try and make a trade or sign a SP in the offseason.

Bednar would give us a pretty electric 7-9 bullpen, and all under team control for years. I'd be interested to see what other deals we could make first since Norby and Stowers would be key pieces for a lot of deals. This is probably a better risk reward than someone like ERod with the injury concerns.

I don't understand why Bonds (and others) are vilified but ARod is somehow on every major MLB broadcast like the dude didn't use steroids and lie about it twice. Dude is just a straight A******. I've never been a fan of Ortiz either for obvious reasons. I learned from a guy with direct connections to DR, what "actually" happened with the shooting too. Doesn't really put him in as good of light in that respect either (not that anyone deserves to get sprayed with bullets).

I think Westburg will be 2B and you can flip flop Gunnar/Holliday however you'd like between 3B and SS. Ortiz will probably be traded.

Yea that's be fun, and could be done during the day on the Tuesday of the event. 1. Outfield throw accuracy to home plate 2. Bare hand throw at 3B to 1B 3. Bunting? 4. Spray hitting set up targets (yall remember MVP baseball 2005?)

No doubt, but Santander could also flame out in the second half or next year. We roll the dice either way. So far he has alternated good and bad months. He had a 642 OPS in April and a 702 OPS in June. He's also battled injures just about every year up until last, IIRC. People may be overrating our prospects, but they may also be overrating Santander.

If we keep him i get it and I'll hope for a continued monster season. He does seems like a potential obvious move to make for Elias given the roster crunch and his 1 1/2 remaining years left. We aren't extending him, and he doesn't really have the best track record of health or consistency. Sure maybe he's just a late bloomer like Nelson Cruz but Mullins/Hays/Cowser/Hicks is still a solid outfield, and it seems like we aren't giving up on Mountcastle at 1B. That with Ohearn still there and Kjerstad in the wings. We could potentially trade AS alone or with lower level prospects and get back the pitching we'd want. That without giving up ANY of our real prospects until the offseason. A 3 team trade could really behoove us. Just a thought anyway, but loving what he's been doing.

I think so too. I think his strategy is poach other teams pitchers he likes in the minors vs trying to draft them. If we are really good at developing position players, we can trade for the pitchers already succeeding in the minors on other teams that have developed that much farther along than a HS or a college pitcher. Guys like Povich, Seth Johnson, etc

Yea. But we either believe in our young guys or we don't. He's gone after next year. Trade him at his absolute peak.

Santander is my ideal trade piece. He could easily be packaged for a SP and our offense probably doesn't miss much of a beat.

The lineup just has another gear when Cowser and Westburg are at the bottom and not Mateo and Mckenna (or whoever).

The Rays had like 6 players seemingly hitting at career year levels. It always seemed suspect.

Gunnar to be the guy to hit the warehouse in the home run derby in 2028.
